Yeah, you don’t want to make other people feel like the student. I think complimenting things you like about other peoples stories too helps, it shows even though there are things about the writing you might have a lot of information about changing, there are still things in the writing that you find admirable. It can even be something as simple as “I like your characters name”, it takes you out of the teacher position if that’s how you’ve been coming off.
Yeah, and I do that often, I just wonder if it’s properly registered in there mind after perhaps thinking I have insulted their work, which is not what I’m doing, but what stops them from perceiving that. Also I’ve been trying to teach myself that when someone acts out towards you, and they take something you said the wrong way or whatever, that’s often (not always, you’re never fully cleared from fault) more of a reflection of them, not you.
I do that too. My dream was that one day somebody would ask me how many bird species I knew, and I’d get to rattle off the whole list 😂 Or what camera to get. Or what phone to get (I used to memorize phone specs) Idk why, it comes in waves for me. I get stuck on one subject then move on from it half a year later.

Your a Cuber too!!??? Awesome! Yeah, I just do CFOP, my pb is about 17 seconds, but my average wavers at around 25-30 depending on how much I’m practicing. What’s your solving method? What’s your pb and average (or mean)? Do you attend competitions (I haven’t yet)? Do you like to commit to 3×3 or do you like other cubes as well? You have any GANs? It’s so cool to meet another cuber on KP!!!!
My sister told me once it’s called (The whole memorizing facts and being super interested in something) ‘special interests’ and yeah she also told me it’s a symptom of autism, which I trust because I’m pretty sure that’s something she’s done some research on. So yeah, just something kinda interesting to know. It wasn’t until I was about 9th grade I started to realize other kids my age didn’t have oddly specific interests of their own.
Yeah, I’ve wondered about that sometimes actually. I have had periods of intense interest in something, like perpetual motion, tardigrades, creating long rhymes, ect. Though I think most of my interests have stabilized, they are still very broad. I’ve wondered about autism before. I tend to overthink about it though, and ultimately decided that it doesn’t matter, as long as I strive to do the Lords will continually.
Your welcome! I like to tell people what I really think most of the time, because I figure if they don’t like what I have to say it’s there problem, I’m just trying to help them out. I overthink like that too, if somebody doesn’t respond to me in a timely manner I worry I’ve offended them somehow. It’s gotten a bit better the past year or so, but yeah I’m overly concerned with not offending people.

Sadly I haven’t been birding in a long time because it’s not safe to go alone, and uh family issues… so yeah it’s been a hot minute. We live near a super cool wildlife refuge though, it has so many birds! I’ve seen a couple great horned owls there, if you go in the winter evening it’s the best. They start courtship in winter, so you’ll get to hear them dueting! One will hoot a bit (I think the males and females have different calls) then the other will respond a bit later. I’ve never seen a barred owl, but they have the craziest mating call. It sounds like a monkey imo XD

I average about 29 (haven’t been practicing a lot lately) My pb is just over 16 seconds (Before that I had a like 17-18 sec. pb that was a +2 and still with that my pb. Awful experience, freaked out with how fast the solve was and pressed the timer too early 😭😭😭) That 16 sec. solve was the luckiest f2l ever though! I use cfop too! 2-look oll, I know about half of the pll’s, and use intuitive f2l. Yep, just 3 by 3. I used to be decent at 2 by 2, I think I averaged 7-8 seconds? I used ortega, but yeah basically I got a gan for christmas… and forgot about my 2 by 2 🤣 oops. I remember like one pbl and hardly any olls for it. XD I might pick it up again. I tried to learn a bit of psuedo slotting, just y’know experimenting without learning the actual way, it’s not anything of value in my solves though. Have you tried rus u-perms? I use rus for ub perms, but the usual not m-slice for ua. It’s kinda messy… but I think it’s more fun 😉 What about you? You do other events? what kind of cubes do you have?
Oh and yeah never been to a comp. They don’t have them near me… we’d have to stay in a hotel for one. I was going to get to travel for one, that’s what got me trying to finish pll. But yeah, didn’t work out. I would get super nervous anyways, I’ve never used a stackmat and don’t exactly time my inspection. I mean I don’t take too long, but I’m not used to the 8 second 12 second calling either.

Lol no not at all! I’m aware it takes a bit of interacting with somebody to learn what they are like, so I try not to judge people. I mean if there was something blatenly obvious and mean (Not you lol), I would stop talking to somebody. I usually wait until I’ve really had some time to talk to somebody until I would decide if I liked them or not, and I mean there’s not a whole lot you could do to make me dislike you. 😀

Awesome! Nah, I haven’t really messed with many different kinds of perms lately, just standard 2 look and mu moves. I haven’t really attended any events, but a friend of mine in Oregon does, he averages around 10 seconds. I have a pretty big collection, got a tetrahedron, 2 Gan 3x3s, lots of other 3x3s, then a 2×2, a 4×4, a 5×5, a skweb, a couple morph cubes, and a dodecahedron. I can solve all of them, but I only work on speed solving 3×3.
