@godlyfantasy12 Would this word be in English or in an imagined language?
“May our songs always be in harmony”
“Light-speed” (Like Godspeed, only not)
“Hail, Light-child”
“May your footsteps always be bright” (A kind of farewell)

Mostly like their tradition on how they celebrate weddings and births, deaths, etc?
it might sounds confusing since I mostly wrote it in a simple quick way where I could understand it but yea XD
i have this questionnaire I built for myself from questions online and I’ve been using that to worldbuild

March 1, 2023 at 1:54 pm #135062@whalekeeper XD XD!!! Welp the uhh death tradition probs isn’t fluff but the rest is XD XD
@esther-c OK!!!So bear with me, I am new at this culture building stuff, and there is a lot of Praise in A’Grend’s culture…
(Sadly this does not mean A’Grend is perfect…a few of it’s people have become quite…troublesome, despite the efforts in place to keep their hearts pointed to the Light)
But yea, if there are repetitive things that’s just how it is… this is mainly things that probably won’t make appearances in my WIP but it’s nice to know.
So first off, How the A’Grendians celebrate Weddings!
So I like this because it’s a mix of your average close knit family wedding mixed with a giant village party/shotgun ride through the town XD XD just bear with me.
In A’Grend, marriages are conducted by the appointed Judge of the royal family at that time (kinda like when there were Judges in the Bible, there is a single Judge chosen by the royal family who is in charge of providing help for the people over trivial laws, matters, helping maintain peace, and deliver the Light One’s word when the Royal family cannot),
It is celebrated by the family and any and all relatives and friends in the place of their choosing, usually their homes, farmlands, or an outside gathering.
During the actual ceremony, the bridge and groom exchange vowels, just like our own weddings, but at the end, they sing a song of praise passed down from both sides of their families, combining them to show that they are now one.
Once the wedding is finalized and the bride and groom are announced, a delegated child from the family is sent to run through the village, announcing the joyous news of this new couple. The village then stops whatever they are doing and offers up praise to the Light One for this new union between two peoples.
As the child passes by, they also clear the streets, and those that have to give, leave gifts, so that when the couple passes in a few moments by carriage, as is custom, they will be unninterrupted and be able to collect the items.
For royal weddings, the ceremony takes place at the palace, and all the kingdom attends, praising the Light One once the wedding is finalized.
Marriage is a most sacred thing to A’Grendians, and once praise is ceased, the bridge and groom sing their song a second time, and it is joined and finished by the rest of the kingdom. (A marriage of royals usually marks the start of a new King or Queen, or Duke and Duchess as well, so it holds much significance)
So yea that’s the marriage custom in A’Grend. Marriages are a big deal and not taken lightly.

I really need to worldbuild more. XD The history part was easy cuz it was based off of America, but I want the customs to be more unique and that will take more work. Lol

March 1, 2023 at 2:40 pm #135082I guess I’ll share more? XD idk if anyones interested buuut yea lol
When a child is born, a member of the family is delegated to go to appointed Judge of the time and declare the birth and gender of the child by bringing a tassle of a distinct color and offering it. This is also when the name of the child is officially declared.
This is why the family member should be someone trusted and is usually a close relative such as a grandfather or grandmother.
The Judge then announces the new arrival to the kingdom and the village then offers up praise to the Light One for His blessing, and, once the mother is ready, friends of the family will begin to bring gifts.
The tassel brought to the Judge is given to the royal family to be prayed over and anointed and after a weeks time, the family brings the baby to the palace to be anointed and dedicated to the Light One. The tassel is then returned as a Prayer Tassel to be kept for the child’s personal use.
If there are multiple births at one time, there will be one dedication ceremony for all children born on the same day.
Twins, Triplets, etc are counted as a family being Highly Favored of the Light, and they receive special tassels to let people know they have a Twin, triplet, etc.

#ProtectSebMarch 1, 2023 at 3:21 pm #135100@godlyfantasy12 I’m loving your worldbuilding! Is it based off of any culture in particular or something you made up?
Also, a bit off topic, but…how many “races” or sentient species of being do you have besides humans?
Where'd I get ya this time? The liver? The kidney? I'm runnin' outta places to put holes in ya.
