Ugh, sorry. That sucks.
I tried to use Google translate and a name meaning website. XD
Maybe Monday???
Ooh, yay!

April 19, 2025 at 4:13 pm #201852My mind is broken.
I was talking to my mom and she was trying to remember the name of something, and she said, “I can see the colors in my mind.”
My reaction was STOP THE PRESS! WAIT WHAT?!?! When I asked, she says she sees colors for words. She said my name was a mix of greens, yellows, and browns.
NO WAY IS THIS POSSIBLE! How did I not know this?!?!

April 19, 2025 at 4:41 pm #201859That is so weird!!! Oh my goodness! And she sees it the same as Whaley… 😳

April 19, 2025 at 4:42 pm #201860@ellette-giselle Ask her if it’s just word/colors, or if she sees sound as color too!

That’s entirely coincidental, I think, unless vowels have common coloring. I think there was some indication of that in my science paper research.
Ask her if the Es are green and the I is yellow!

April 21, 2025 at 7:14 am #201873Music has colors for her. I asked about the “E”s and “I”s and she said she’d have to think about it. She’s a little surprised because she thought this was normal for everyone. 😄

@whalekeeper @elletteThis is the artist that I got some inspiration from for Sara’s synesthesia.

April 21, 2025 at 10:56 am #201883That’s so wild. And awesome. You’ve never suspected?
We had a dinner conversation a bit back, where I found out that my siblings and mom all connect numbers and personalities/colors to some degree, while my dad was totally confused. XD

April 21, 2025 at 10:58 am #201886Do you too or is it just your siblings and mom? That is so funny. It’s probably heriditary, then, right?

April 21, 2025 at 11:44 am #201904Yes, I do too. XD (but I think it’s mainly that I’ve connected emotions and personalities with colors, so anything that carries an emotion or personality gets a color connected too. IDK, that’s just how it makes sense to me. It’s a bit too distant and wobbly a connection for me to say its synesthesia, but it’s been around for as long as I can remember.)
But I don’t think it’s hereditary, maybe just the way we were taught (having been homeschooled). Each of my siblings do this to a different degree/way, my twin and I being the most extreme (I don’t think my brother connects colors…?).

April 21, 2025 at 11:48 am #201905Oh, weird! That does make sense though. It does sound like Synesthesia.
What do the colors mean? Like, for example, red?
Ohh, could be.

April 21, 2025 at 12:12 pm #201915I know, right? XD But I don’t think it’s synesthesia, because it’s not always consistent, and I don’t actually see the colors in my head unless I think about it.
Oof. I haven’t really tried to pin down what individual colors connect to. Lets see. It depends on the shade. In fact, shade is nearly more important than the color itself.
Ugh, emotions are hard to word. XD Especially when I’m usually using colors to describe them, not the other way around.
Darker red is warm and bold, comforting, but sometimes bittersweet. Reminds me of hot cocoa or tea. Like the older sibling of periwinkle or powder blue.
Bright red is flashy, happy, and easily excited.
Dull red is quiet and sullen, often tired. It has a serious temper. Not a favorite color.
And again, it’s wobbly, often affected by how I’m feeling at the time, or memories of the object.

April 21, 2025 at 12:57 pm #201924(My apologies for this random post, but I’m psychoanalyzing myself over the above discussion)
Actually, I think what I do is pretty common, even if it’s a mildly more intense form. Colors are known to carry emotions that vary for different people. I’ve connected those colors in turn to other things that carry similar emotions. The personality thing may be a little weird, but I know other people who see letters and numbers as having personalities (and seeing inanimate objects as having personality is pretty common for people with my personality, apparently, or so Myers-Briggs says).
Even is I did confuse my dad by saying that the number 7 was a quiet and mildly dangerous guy with a hooded cloak and good intentions.
