      Hi I’m Lilly, I’m 16, and I love reading! I especially like reading fantasy and historical fiction novels. JRR Tolkien is my favourite author. I also greatly enjoy the Viking Quest and Freedom Seekers series by Lois Walfrid Johnson.

      I am a Christian and am homeschooled. I greatly enjoy consuming chocolate, black tea, and coffee. I really like dinosaurs (are there still some around today?!?) and collect great amounts of rocks.

      I have a book in my head but can’t ever seem to get it typed out (does anyone else have that problem?). It fantasy and includes dragons of course, giant eagles, and various other made up creatures.

      I hope to find some good tips here and to start writing.

        *shakes hands* Honored to be the first to welcome you to the Kingdom! I love chocolate, too! And I definitely struggle to get my WIP from my head to the Word doc.

        Some questions (yes @devastate-lasting I beat you this time XD):

        – Do you like pineapple on pizza?

        – Can you summarize your book in a few sentences?

        – What’s some of your fave music?

        Great to see you here!

        P.S.: You can call me JC. 😀

          Hi JC!
          Yes, pineapple definitely belongs on pizza (my fam makes homemade pizza. We really enjoy replacing the tomato sauce that would usually be put on the crust with caesar dressing it tastes amazing that way 😋).

          My story as I have thought it out is a kingdom that is taken over by another and the king dies and his people enslaved, and by the end, the oppressive kingdom is overthrown and the people go back to their home countries (I made up a whole world, a map, nationality descriptions, etc. just not the story 😆). That is it sorta summed up.

          For music, I greatly enjoy listening to the LotR and HtTYD soundtracks. I also greatly enjoy fK&C’s music. What’s your favorite music?

            High-fives! Pineapple fam! It’s my favorite pizza topping!

            Wow, that sounds awesome! I’m especially impressed that you’ve created a world and map. I have totally respect for fantasy writers, because I could never create a world capable of lasting throughout an entire novel. I write Biblical fiction myself.

            I love the Les Misérables musical! As you can see from my signature, it’s my favorite book. 😀 I’m actually listening to it right now as I type. Besides Les Mis, I love Maranatha, Hillsong, Israel Houghton, Bethel, The Hoppers, Christian Edition, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith… and so many more. I also enjoy Faouzia.

              That’s cool. What are you writing currently?
              I’ve tried to write in our real world a few times but then find myself wanting everything to be totally accurate history, culturally, etc. Whereas in fantasy toi don’t have to worry about that because it’s all from your own head. Lol.

              I’ve never actually read Les Miserable. I think we have it on one of our bookshelves maybe I should. Lol.
              Oh, yes I like many of those music artists as well. It’s hard to pick favourite ones.

                @elanor

                Thanks! My work-in-progress is a novel about St. Paul from the perspective of his very fervent, very adoring younger sister.

                Oh, yes, I get that. I’ll admit, though, that it’s tough for me to think up a world completely from my own head!

                Oh goodness, you should TOTALLY read it! I believe there’s no book more powerful (besides the Bible, of course XD). It’s about redemption, unconditional love, forgiveness, a relationship with Christ, and tons of other great themes.

                    @joy-caroline

                    Your book sounds really cool.
                    Well maybe I shall have to read it (Les Misérables) then. 🙂

                    @devastate-lasting

                    Hi Lin.  Oh so some rivalry goes on here on KP does it?😆

                    Some of my favourite movies would be LOTR, HTTYD, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and I also really enjoy the Kendrick Brother movies. I’m NOT into Hallmark at all 😆

                    For deserts some of my favourites are banoffee pie, chocolate cake (who doesn’t like chocolate?), pavlova, lemon-curd cheesecake, and chocolate chip cookies (not sure if those count as desert), and vanilla ice cream is my top favourite ice cream.

                    As I mentioned before I love looking at any rocks I think interesting (my Mom keeps telling me I need to get rid of some 😆), I also greatly enjoy playing my guitar, and I greatly enjoy playing board games (especially the strategic kind) Terraforming Mars and Colt Express are a couple personal favourites.

                    Thanks for the welcoming. 😁

                      Ps. For music two new (or rather, new to me) artists that I’m greatly enjoying are Dan Bremnes and Danny Gokey.

                        Yes, totally!

                        I’ve heard lots of good things about Danny Gokey. I should give some of his music a try.

                          @elanor Lovely movie choices! And yes, Hallmark, does, uh, kind of suck. At least for me.

                          Those desserts sound delicious! And vanilla is seriously good.

                          Oo, rocks! What’s the most interesting rock that you have?

                            @devastate-lasting

                            Yeah, the whole mushy romance thing is sorta… blech to me.

                            I have one rock that is red and blue and black marbled in color with mica schist on it. Some others of mine are some rocks I found by the Twin Falls, in the Northwest Territories, that are full of fossilized shells, corals, and other things I don’t know the names of xD. They look really cool.

                                  Hi, Lilly! Welcome to the forum! I’m Lydia. 😀

                                  Ah, yes, J.R.R. Tolkien is the best! (In my humble opinion, he was one of the greatest novelists ever. 🙂) Love your signature and profile picture, by the way.

                                  Here are a few questions for you, if you feel like answering them:

                                  1) Who are your top three favorite authors?

                                  2) What is your favorite mythological animal?

                                  3) Who is your all-time favorite book character? (Yeah, this is a nearly impossible question, so I have to wonder… Am I the only person who can answer it??😂)

                                  Anyway, welcome! Can’t wait to get to know you better!
