Hello my dear friends! (I least I think we are friends…)
I have called each of you here, for one reason… *He said in a ghostly way.*
For a Q and A!!!! š
I am very interested in all of your denominations! But I know very little about them š¢
So I am going to ask you guys questions about them!!!!! I will even answer the questions!!!
I think we can all agree that each and every one of our denominations is different from the last!
Rules: Be respectful of what others believe. Don’t judge. And the other guidelines too! (First two rules are the most important)
- What is your denomination?
- Did you grow up with this denomination? Are you still growing up with it?Or did you convert to it yourself?
- How many books are in your bible? And if you wish, what are those books?
- How many people in your family are that denomination? (If any are a separate denomination, or religion)
- How many sacraments do you have? (If any…again, I am not sure if there is a denomination with zero sacraments)
- Who is the head of your denomination? (i.e. The pope for Catholics.)
- Who is your favorite hero from the Bible? (Can’t be Jesus. But he should be all of ours.)
- And finally, what is your favorite tradition from your religion? (It could be a family christian tradition, or a church tradition Example: Whenever my family hears a siren we pray a Hail Mary.)
Hope you have fun answering these questions!!!! I am going to answer them now!

January 16, 2025 at 7:49 pm #194785- I am a Catholic!
- I am still growing up with it!
- There 73 books in the Catholic Bible! (Too many to list lol!)
- Almost my whole family, just my two older brothers have no religion š (If you guys could pray for them that would be greatly appreciated!)
- There are seven sacraments! I know them off the top of my head too! Baptism, Confirmation, Holy orders, Matrimony, Eucharist, Anointing of the sick and Reconciliation!
- Pope Francis currently!
- Either Esther or King David! But I also do love Ruth and St. Jude!!!
- For me it is the example I used! Praying a Hail Mary every time we hear a siren! But I (I think this is a tradition) also love how we pray to the saints!
If you have any questions about my religion, feel free to ask!

Oh yeah, forgot to say! You can also ask your own questions, either about others denominations specifically or broadly!
Have fun learning about others beliefs! I love to do so!

January 16, 2025 at 8:25 pm #194787Well, this might be fun.
- I am Calvinist.
- I am currently growing up in it.
- There are 66 books to the Bible
- My parents, my brothers, and I are Calvinist. My Grandfather and his second wife are definitely not Calvinist, though they do claim the name of Christ.
- I’m not very familiar with sacraments, but I think baptism and Communion (which is different than Mass) would be counted as such.
- God is the head. While we do follow the teachings of John Calvin and others, they are mere mortal, fallible men, so while we do follow their teachings, they are merely shepherds whoĀ guideĀ us, GodĀ leadsĀ us.
- Not really sure, there’s just too many. Always loved Esther and Ruth though.
- I personally have a very similar tradition to Kefa of praying whenever I hear sirens.
Which is worse? Angry cat Batman or Batman?
#AnduthForever (hopefully š)January 16, 2025 at 8:31 pm #194788- Non-denominational Christian
- No, I’ve been other churches with different denominations, but the church that we planted is non-denominational, since the elders didn’t want to have to deal with the politics that other denominations may have to be a part of (which is totally fine if any of y’all’s church do that, just ours doesn’t)
- 66 for the traditional (what I believe to be traditional) bible
- I think my uncle’s (my mom’s brother) church is non-denominational. But my mom’s other brother walked away from the faith, prayer for him and his family would be appreciated as well as for my dad’s side who are not remotely Christian
- Communion and baptism
- JESUS!!!! Best leader in my opinion.
- I’m kinda biased towards Ruth… but besides her Peter, Paul, Mary (Hey! it’s the band), Moses, and Andrew…
- Christmas and Easter, I have always been drawn closer and closer to the realization of what Jesus actually did through those holidays. I’ve always believed since I was like 5, but I’m becoming more and more faithful to him in those times.
@the_lost-journal I have some questions for you about Catholisism- What is Confirmation, Holy orders, Matrimony, Eucharist, Anointing of the sick and Reconciliation? I think I’ve heard of them but I don’t know what they are.
- Which book is St. Jude in?
- How important do you think it is to pray to the saints?
I’m asking because I’m curious, I don’t want to criticize you.
Thank God... for CHEESE
#AnduthForever (Lord Willing)January 16, 2025 at 9:00 pm #194789Hm an interesting set of questions. My answers will be kinda boring because Iām not in any denomination, but Iāll answer anyway because why not lol šš
1. What is your denomination?
As I said, I am not a part of any denomination. Iām not non-denominational either because in a sense that is a denomination too, you know. š I asked my mom what we were once, and she said we are just sinners saved by graceāand I 100% stand by that.
2. Did you grow up with this denomination? Are you still growing up with it? Or did you convert to it yourself?
Yep, this is how I grew up.
3. How many books are in your bible? And if you wish, what are those books?
66ā¦
4. How many people in your family are that denomination? (If any are a separate denomination, or religion)
My direct family (siblings and parents) are all in the same boat as I am. Sinners saved by grace.
I know some of my aunts and uncles on my momās side are Christian, but Iām not sure of their denominations. I donāt know about my dadās sideā¦. š5. How many sacraments do you have? (If anyā¦again, I am not sure if there is a denomination with zero sacraments)
*looks up what in the big wide world a sacrament is*
Ummmā¦ ok Iāve never really heard that word before so uhā¦ idk. Baptism and Communion are the only āsacramentsā that we do, as far as I know.
6. Who is the head of your denomination? (i.e. The pope for Catholics.)
God is our head. We listen to a few different pastorsā¦ but those are very few (perhaps I should mention we do church from home). Still, God leads us, not any man.
7. Who is your favorite hero from the Bible? (Canāt be Jesus. But he should be all of ours.)
I donāt think I really have one, but I do like Samson. So thereās something.
8. And finally, what is your favorite tradition from your religion? (It could be a family christian tradition, or a church tradition Example: Whenever my family hears a siren we pray a Hail Mary.)
We donāt have any. š
INTP.
Have a carrot.January 16, 2025 at 9:04 pm #194790thanks guys! I already learned so much! š
Rax, here are some answers to your questions!!!
What is Confirmation, Holy orders, Matrimony, Eucharist, Anointing of the sick and Reconciliation? I think Iāve heard of them but I donāt know what they are.
Oh, I love teaching others about the sacraments! š
Confirmation: It is basically a second baptism! Or an anointing by the Holy Spirit. You do it when you are in middle school to high school (Some churches do it in elementary school too, but I think that is too early) But we do it so that when you are older and can reason better then a baby can, you can choose to fully join the catholic faith! (You are considered an adult once you get confirmation. Basically where you choose for yourself.)
Holy orders: It is when you become a priest to put it in simple terms. Nuns and brothers cannot get holy orders. So only men can achieve holy orders.
Matrimony: It is just a word for marriage.
Eucharist: It is what we consider the bread of life. We believe it is Jesus’ body and blood. You know the story of the last supper? It is us continuing and carrying on that tradition.
Anointing of the sick: When someone is on their deathbed, close to death, or seriously ill, it is where you pray over them and pray for them either to enter heaven or get healed. (We usually use oils, more recently we have changed it where you could also just be in pain or sick to get anointing of the sick.)
Reconciliation: It is where you confess your sins to a priest, it is considered a requirement for catholics to attend reconciliation! (I know some denominations have it where you confess to the person you sinned against one on one, but we do it behind a screen or face to face in a confessional.) Ā Ā Ā Ā (In my opinion it is the scariest sacrament lol!)
Which book is St. Jude in?
He is in the book of Jude… He is in the New Testament and is one of Jesus’ disciples.
How important do you think it is to pray to the saints?
I believe it is very important. But it is not like how we pray to God, like what rae said in a way. We do not worship them, we follow their teachings and honor them, but they simply guide us. God leads us!
Hope that was helpful! š
(Also don’t worry, I am glad you asked!)

January 16, 2025 at 9:07 pm #194791I love this idea!
- I am Anglican.
- I have been an Anglican my entire life, and I plan to stay an Anglican.
- 66 books in the canon.
- All 6 of my siblings, plus my parents. My mom’s parents are Methodists, and I don’t think my dad’s parents are Christians. I’m not sure about my cousins.
- There are two sacraments; Holy Communion, and Baptism.
- I don’t think anyone is in charge of the whole denomination, but our diocese has a bishop, and there is a council of Anglican bishops that meets sometimes. I don’t know much about it.
- I’m not sure…maybe the Hebrew midwives from Exodus.
- Only one??? We have soooo many traditions and I love them all. We celebrate all the random holidays like Candlemas and Michaelmas and All Saint’s and All Soul’s days and Ascension and Pentecost and The Feast of the Annunciation. Probably my favorite tradition is our Fat Tuesday pancake party.Ā
So actually I don’t love all the traditions. Lent is annoying.
What is Confirmation, Holy orders, Matrimony, Eucharist, Anointing of the sick and Reconciliation? I think Iāve heard of them but I donāt know what they are.
Matrimony is marriage, Eucharist is Communion, and Confirmation is basically a the rite when a baptized person affirms the faith and is accepted as a full member of the church. We have confirmation in Anglicanism too; we just don’t consider it a sacrament. I’m not sure about the others, because I’m not Catholic.

January 16, 2025 at 9:08 pm #194793Thanks for responding!
And as one of my friends said “Me and my family are non-denominational… which is basically a denomination soooo…. I don’t know.”
Sorry if that quote seemed random, it just reminded me of that… (I hope that didn’t offend anyone!)

January 16, 2025 at 9:14 pm #194798He is in the book of Judeā¦ He is in the New Testament and is one of Jesusā disciples.
Oh, ok, gotcha, sorry, I thought you were talking about someone in the Septuagint (idk if I’m using this term right, please correct me if I’m wrong), I’ve never referred to him as St. Jude since I don’t believe that we should pray to saints.
Thanks for answering the questions! š I now have another question: Do you believe that saints will answer your prayers?
Thank God... for CHEESE
#AnduthForever (Lord Willing)January 16, 2025 at 9:14 pm #194799I love how similar our denominations are! (At least I think that.) Of course there are differences! But a lot of similarities too!
Iām not sureā¦maybe the Hebrew midwives from Exodus.
I find this comment really intriguing! Could you explain?
Fat Tuesday pancake party.
That sounds like heaven!
