This is a new, fun, wintery way to get words in, that we totally did not steal from KDWC.  @esther-c 🤭

      Here are the rules!

For each snowball you get hit with, write 50 words.

Then, throw two snowballs at other KPers.

If you want to throw more than one snowball at one person, tag them once, but put a x2 (or whatever number) by that tag. Then they must write 100 words, and then tag four more people.

Feel free to ask questions if you don’t understand! Snowballs can be thrown whenever, and you are free to stockpile them for any day you are writing.

If you do not want to be tagged, we’ll make a do-not-tag list for this topic. Otherwise, anyone is fair game. 😊

Okay, this is cool! I know I was only required to write 50 words, but it turned into 72 and I’m very happy

A girl, a tiny little girl, began chipping away at his stone resolve with five simple words. Five. Baron shouted in frustration, punching the wall. Years, years of death, years of blood, and not one tinge of remorse, not one inkling of a tear. But now, his mind was cracking apart, ripping itself to shreds over five simple words and one evil deed done to the one who spoke those five words.

I could edit it down. I am repeating myself a lot, but I’m happy with it as it is for now

                            Okay, how’s this?

Friedrich leaned low and gave his horse full rein. “Faster Valiant.”
Valiant gathered his legs up and lunged forward, racing across the field. Ahead, Friedrich could see his light cavalry already splashing through the river. The knights followed, careful to keep their horses steady in the knee-deep water. If a knight and his horse fell in the river, there was little chance for either of them.
Friedrich glanced over his shoulder and saw several enemy horsemen setting out after him. He looked ahead again and saw the river was still a good run away from him. His knights were mostly across, and his footman and archers had plunged in.
The sound of Valiant’s hooves on the ground thundered in Friedrich’s ears and the horse’s mane lashed across his face. “Come on, come on,” whispered Friedrich.
He was about a furlong from the river when the first of the enemy horseman drew even with him. Friedrich wheeled Valiant away and drew his sword just in time to block his enemy’s first blow. It only took a few moments to take down the rider, but Friedrich had lost precious time.
The next two were almost upon him.
                            “Go Valiant! Go!” yelled Friedrich.
Valiant leapt forward and thundered toward the river. Friedrich watched the riders. One of them was gaining, and he was sure to ride Friedrich down. Clenching his teeth, Friedrich pulled Valiant to an almost instant standstill. The enemy rider had not expected this, and his horse raced passed Friedrich. The second horseman was quicker, and he swerved his horse to run straight at Friedrich. Their swords met, and Valiant reared, lashing out at the other horse with his hooves.
The second rider had come about and now raced at Friedrich from the other side. Friedrich saw the shadow of a blade and jerked back. The tip of the sword slashed across his face just below his cheekbone. Friedrich reeled slightly as pain flashed through the wound.
That moment of lost concentration threw Friedrich out of rhythm. He blocked the next two blows but could feel that he was behind. One more blow, and Friedrich was completely exposed to the man on his left. The rider drew back his sword to strike, but at that exact moment, a horse crashed into his mount. Both horses and riders tumbled to the ground and rolled over in the dust. Friedrich lost no time in striking down the man on his right. He sheathed his sword and spun in the saddle just as a young warrior in the dark blue uniform of Friedrich’s army staggered up.
Friedrich reached out a hand and swung the soldier onto the back of his horse before setting out at a gallop for the river. The rest of the enemy riders were close. Valiant strained to keep ahead, his hooves thundering across the grass. They reached the river and Valiant leapt.
Cold water flew up and splashed over horse and riders. Friedrich shook his head and blinked rapidly to clear his vision. Valiant made it to the far bank and scrambled out of the water. Several knights and officers waited to receive Friedrich, and a line of archers stood along the river’s edge.
Friedrich looked back and saw the enemy riders slow and come to a stop. They seemed undecided, but finally turned away, unwilling to risk crossing the river with so many archers waiting for them.
Friedrich let out a sigh of relief, and suddenly all the pain and fatigue crashed into him at once. The young soldier who had saved him slipped down off of Valiant, and was pushed aside as several lords and the two commanders hurried to help Friedrich down. Friedrich looked for the soldier, and thought he saw him, but his view was blocked by lord Sternhilt, who was insisting Friedrich must be tended to at once.
“We must get away from the river,” broke in Commander Hockshore.
“Yes, he’s right,” agreed Friedrich. “Just give me a fresh horse and I’ll be fine. Valiant has done enough for today.”
A fresh mount was soon provided, and Friedrich ordered Valiant to be unsaddled. He knew the horse would follow him.
Soon they were riding away from the river, deeper into Friedrich’s kingdom. He looked back at the river–– the border between the two kingdoms–– and shook his head.
When would the fighting ever end?

                                1. How long did it take?/How much time did you have to write them?

                                2. How long did it take for you to write your two books?

Fateful Night took four days, and The Choices We Made took a week (it was 400 pages.). The editing and publishing process took six months on the first one, and three on the second.
