Hi everyone!
My name is Brianne Norwood, and I’m new here, so I don’t really know what this is supposed to be.I’m thirteen years old, and I have five younger siblings (four sisters and one brother). I love reading (especially fantasy) and writing (pretty much only fantasy, though I’ve dabbled in regular fiction before). I don’t really write very seriously (as in, I’m not looking to get published or anything), but I love it just the same.
A few other things about me include:
—I play the viola (and LOVE it)
—I love almost anything that has to do with living before technology became a huge part of life (so like anywhere between Bible times and the 17 or 1800s)
—I enjoy learning about other countries and cultures and languages, and I want to take a long trip to Europe someday (I’ve already been to Denmark, so that’s a start)
—I like to have conversations about reality and fantasy alike (mostly reality with my parents and fantasy with my friends)
Feel free to ask any questions!
Like I said above, I’m new, so I’d be much obliged if someone could show me around!Yours Sincerely,
Brianne Norwood“You’re heavier than you look.”
“It’s all brains and muscle.”October 3, 2023 at 10:31 am #157804Darn, let me know if this shows up twice… I posted and then tried to edit Euodia’s tag, and then it deleted it, lol.
Anyway, it’s nice to meet you! I’m hybridlore on here, a Christian homeschooler, high schooler, violinist, and science-fiction/dystopian writer.
Awesome! I’m also the oldest child in my family. 😁 Okay, cool! Fantasy is really fun to write, too. I know there’s a bunch of fantasy writers on here, like @euodia_vision and @kyronthearcanin.
It’s awesome that you play the viola! How long have you been playing? I’ve been playing violin for a little over two years.
Have you tried writing historical fiction? That sounds like something you would like. And ooh, cultures and languages are really fun… I like geography, and I’m taking Spanish again this year. It’s been pretty fun! I like when I actually get to apply the language I’ve been learning XD Like hearing people speak it at the grocery store, or whatever. I haven’t actually talked to anyone yet though XD
That’s awesome! I’ve never been out of the U.S., but it would be really cool to go someday… I think a trip to Europe would be amazing. And Denmark is so pretty!
Some questions for you!
What are your favorite books/series?
What’s your WIP about? (Work in progress, usually just means the story you’re currently working on.)
And of course, I’m happy to help if you need anything! Are you talking more just like navigating the site, or what? I was brand new to forums before joining Kingdom Pen, so I get it, but it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it… let me know what you want to know!
Anyway, welcome to kingdom pen!

October 3, 2023 at 10:46 am #157806Hey!!!!! I’m Smiley (my real name is Miley) I’m a Christian homeschooled girl who loves writing. I also love softball, exercising, archery, and stretching, and I’m also a Marvel fan girl. I write dystopian and contemporary and also fanfics
and now some questions
Favorite book?
Do you have a WIP? If so what is it about?
Favorite movie?
Favorite show?
Do you like Marvel?
Do you make Aesthetic boards? (I have way too many)
Do me a favor…. Tell Cress I meant it
-ThorneOctober 3, 2023 at 10:47 am #157808Thanks for the tag!! (:
Hi! I love writing fantasy, as well as sci-fi.
Viola sounds so cool! I play guitar as well as a bit of piano and cello. I’ve never been out of the states lol, but I think it would be cool.
I know some people that go to Nicaragua on a regular basis, and they’ve invited me to come in the future, but I have too much happening right now lol.
Aaaanyway, it’s nice to meet you! I’m sure you’ll get plenty of questions so I’ll leave it at that (:
Follow your heart, but take your brain with you.
October 3, 2023 at 11:39 am #157814To answer everybody’s questions:
I’ve been playing viola for one year now, but I started playing violin when I was eight, so I usually say I’ve been playing a ‘stringed instrument’ for five years.
I’ve tried historical fiction once or twice, but it usually flops about a page in. I love reading it though.
Denmark is gorgeous, and the language is really fun.
My favorite books/series… That’s really hard, but if I HAD to give just one, it would probably be Lord of the Rings.
My work in progress is kind of complicated, as it’s a mix of three or four different books/series with my writing style and ideas thrown in there. Here’s the one-sentence summary: Lisle Weft, along with five of her friends, must journey across Ilabathi to defeat the seemingly unkillable witch Nimione, or else their entire world will succumb to her control.
Yeah, just navigating the site, and also what does everybody do on here?
Favorite movie… That’s also really hard… Maybe the Hunger Games? But all four of them, not just one. I don’t really know.
As for Marvel (please don’t get offended, Marvel lovers), no, I don’t like it. Superheroes and whatnot just get on my nerves. To be fair, I’ve only watched snippets, but what I’ve seen doesn’t appeal to me at all.
Aesthetic boards… I’ve actually never heard of it, but I just looked it up and I don’t think I do them.
I like reading sci-fi a lot, but I’ve never tried writing it.
That is awesome that you play some cello! My sister does, and she loves it. It’s a really neat instrument.
One question… How do you tag people?
Thanks!
—Brianne

Also, forgot to mention a couple of things:
I’m also homeschooled (actually, me and my three younger sisters do Classical Conversations), I’m a Christian, I live in Georgia, and I love to swim and imagine with my friends.

@spinner4him Hi Brianne, and welcome to KP!!!!💕💕
I am FreedomWriter76 (often just called Freedom😉), a Christian teen girl, writer, homeschooler, Southerner, Music Fan, History Buff, and total Marvel nerd that has too many WIPs and probably just as many fanfictions that has a passion for spreading the light of Christ through Historical Fiction and is currently in the process of editing my first finished His-Fic novel.
Ooh, that’s so cool that you’ve been to Denmark!! If I ever got the chance (and if things were more calm 😅), I’d 100% go to Germany to see all of the WW2 history there
I may or may not be obsessed with WW2 history XD
Anyways, my brain is going blank on questions right now, but again, welcome to KP, and God Bless! <3
October 3, 2023 at 12:17 pm #157819Hi! I’m Acancello, also known as Allison! I’m aslo homeschooled and I love guinea pigs, dogs, traveling, acting, trying weird food, writing, reading, talking and a lot more 😁! I write Dystopian and post-apocalyptic books. I’m so glad you could come to Kingdom Pen! OK, now I’ll ask you some hopefully not already asked questions (Also, if you have any questions about KP, feel free to ask me and I’ll try to answer them)😉
What’s your favorite book series?
Do you like to do any sports? If not, do you have any other activities you like to do?
How often do you like to write?
What is your favorite character you have written?
Hope you love KP!!

October 3, 2023 at 12:26 pm #157822Hi! I don’t know how to tag people yet, so hopefully you get this!
My favorite book series is probably The Lord of the Rings, but there are so many others.
I don’t do sports, but I do take music lessons, which I absolutely LOVE.
I try to write once a day, but Writer’s Block (bet you’ve never heard of it or experienced it 😉 is quite good at thwarting that.
My favorite character that I’ve written… no idea. Probably one of the main characters of my current WIP, but they’re based a lot on people I know, so it’s hard to say that they’re my favorite character that I’ve written.
How do you tag people?
Thanks!

“It’s all brains and muscle.”October 3, 2023 at 12:29 pm #157823How do I describe it? 😀 So under the persons profile pic you will see their name in green and under their name you will see the other name ( black font that starts with an @ symbol). Either copy and paste that onto the message your typing to them or write it out- either way will work. Hope that helps and makes scene! 🙂

October 3, 2023 at 12:31 pm #157824I copied and pasted it! Hope it works! Thanks!

I’m the Arcane Axiom, I love math, finding divine fundamental truth, and exploring that in my writing. I read/write sci-fi/fantasy, and my current project is a universe I’m working on with my sister called the Septrum.
Questions!
Do you lean towards hard or soft worldbuilding? (hard meaning concrete rules for the reader to understand, vs soft meaning more open possibilities where anything goes.)
What is a favorite concept or idea you’ve seen for worldbuilding, character, or writing in general that you’ve seen in writing?
Now what is a favorite concept or idea you’ve seen for worldbuilding, character, or writing in general that you’ve come up with yourself?
You mentioned a love for cultures and languages. Do you try learning many languages? Since your into fantasy, have you gotten into conlanging for your worlds at all? (Conlang: constructed language, a language made by one or a few individuals, instead of one that has evolved naturalistically.)
You mentioned that you love to discuss reality. Does that mean you dig into math, philosophy, and religion then in those discussions, or anything else? I’m always eager to find people to have deep discussions with if your ever interested.
And last but not least:
Reality question: do we live on the surface of a higher-dimensional potato, donut, pretzel, or something else?

October 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm #157832Hi there! I think I would probably lean more toward the soft worldbuilding category, but I’m a pretty healthy balance of both I’d say.
As for learning languages, I don’t try learning many, but I’ve been learning Danish on and off for about a year now (I can never practice, though, so I’m not very good at all).
I’ve tried a couple of times to make a language for my worlds, and I can usually get a sentence or two, but there are no grammar rules or anything (I’m not as serious as Tolkien).
Well, no offense, but I hate math. I love talking with my parents about philosophy and religion, though.

Nice, I’m definitely more of a hard worldbuilder, but balancing the two is very good. Tolkien did this, where the world itself is very hard, however the magic is very hand wavy.
As for learning languages, I don’t try learning many, but I’ve been learning Danish on and off for about a year now (I can never practice, though, so I’m not very good at all).
Danish is cool! I’m lightly conversational in French, though I haven’t maintained it well. I’ve worked on other languages as well, but I’m the best with French. I want to learn Thai next though.

Cool! That’s a start, and you may not need any more when it comes to developing your world. It’s a hobby of mine, but it isn’t necessary. What are some of the languages you’ve at least started?
Well, no offense, but I hate math. I love talking with my parents about philosophy and religion, though.
Hey, that’s alright! Math isn’t everyone’s thing, I just think it’s worth mentioning, because it is a fundamental aspect of reality. Would you like to be tagged to the Apologetics page, where we talk about philosophy and religion? It hasn’t been too active lately, but there’s a lot of interesting questions to explore on there.
