I’m confused as well. And yes, @xonos-darkgrate Cinnar would love it here. Probably Julie Martin/Stanley too, what with the unicorns and such.

Thanks for praying everyone! We’ve safely arrived in Houston, and we’re both feeling a bit better than we were yesterday.
@xonos-darkgrate I’ll be praying!

@everybody Thanks for the feedback! I suppose I’ll tweak some of the wording then get back to you.
@dragon-snapper Both, of course. 🙂
@xonos-darkgrate There are some plot twists, yes, but the story doesn’t stand on its unusual premise. It stands much more on its psychological depth. And, certainly! Go ahead and reword it.

@xonos-darkgrate as someone who has read and reread this story, I can assure you it’s anything but simple. In many ways it’s a lot like most classical literature— the premise it’s built on is very basic, almost simple, and yet when you read the story it’s nothing you ever would have guessed.

@raevynstar Welcome to KP! Where do you live?
Yes, humans. Those are the biggest monsters possible for a good story!
That is a huge truth. Humans will ALWAYS be more interesting to read about than any kind of creature. Whether they’re good or bad. 😛

@xonos-darkgrate yeah I know what you mean. 🙂 I didn’t think you’d do something like that, I just wanted to drop that by since some authors go way over board. And when that happens it isn’t very enjoyable.

@xonos-darkgrate I’m sure it would. It would be cool to give a bad guy a subplot too.

@xonos-darkgrate okay I see. That sounds like a lot of fun! I’m afraid I don’t have much advice other than be careful when filling in the blanks. It would be easy to make it unrealistic, or really unbelievable. 🙂 That sounds lame but that’s all I can think of. 😉

@xonos-darkgrate By sub-plots, I basically mean adding in side characters with their own intertwining stories. I also mean how the main events John Huss experiences affect the many different areas of his life. For instance, you could build a subplot around a book he is writing, or a friendship he has with a small child, or a theological dilemma…[Read more]

@xonos-darkgrate first off wow! That sounds like a interesting undertaking! I’ve never heard of John Huss before. I think you have a really neat idea. So I do have a question, are you writing non-fiction or fiction mixed with non-fiction?

@xonos-darkgrate That sounds like a great idea. You might want to read the book Trial And Triumph. It’s a novel about John Huss, and I really liked it. I would also highly recommend you read Rora. It’s a real-life story of a Waldensian resistance fighter with added details to bring it to life. It might give you some ideas, especially on how to…[Read more]
