@Daeus, Haha, great story!
@writefury and @kate-flournoy, I was laughing so hard when I read that the pet frog died and was then resurrected. XD

@writefury
Yes, that is good and exactly what I was hoping for! (Oh, the humility…)@daeus
Do you have any suggestions as to this “poetic imagery” you speak of? They would be greatly appreciated.
And also: the grammar nerd in me absolutely cannot resist… It’s you’re. -

That’s so fun, @Rolena-Hatfield! And @Writefury, if I was going to kill him, it’s only fair you make him come back. 😛
I’ll wait awhile and see if anyone else wants to do that prompt, Rolena, then do it myself if it doesn’t get a reply after a bit. 🙂 -

Oh hey @writefury, didn’t see ya there! 😛
Thanks for the critique— yes, I should hope I’ve improved. I wrote that one… uh… let’s see… two years ago? Or no, I think it was one. Whew… I’ve come a ways since then! 😀 -

@Daeus — Cool, cool. The bulletin in a good idea. I think figuring out how to work logistics might be a challenge, but I like it. Keep thinking on it and if you have any more ideas on it, be sure to stick ’em here! Just messaged Rachel, and she’ll create a “big topic” for lack of a better word up today or tomorrow, and then you can go in and nest…[Read more]

@writefury — This is like Christmas. I refresh the page and more ideas. Don’t tell anyone, but y’all are my favorites. 😀 I love the webinar idea! Who would you want to lead them? Like, KP team members, verified authors, KP community members, etc? And what topics would you be most interested in? I checked out the faithwriter’s website! That…[Read more]

@writefury, thanks for the ideas! I’ll have to think about the contradictions idea. 🙂
The story, so far, is about a girl (the MC) who lives in a small town in another land. It’s fantasy, so I’m probably going to set the story in another world (which I haven’t figured out the name of yet 🙂 ). An evil king rules the country in which she…[Read more]

@writefury, yes! I just can’t get over how ironic that is… 😛
Vivacious is another word I like. I love how it sounds 🙂

You were right @writefury. It is the fear of long words. (Thank you Google. 🙂 ) I like your idea too @deaus

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn’t respond sooner. 🙂
Thank you all for your advise! @writefury, I haven’t done much of anything yet…I guess I didn’t know where to start (but I did come up with the MC’s name, which is a start 🙂 ).
@hannah-krynicki, that’s a great idea! I’ll have to try that.
@kate-flournoy and @daeus, I will have to refer back…[Read more]

Love characterization! @writefury pretty much nailed it, especially with the bit about MBTI (it sounds as if we might have a lot in common there). 🙂
I also find it useful to sit down and write an array of short scenes in which the characters get to display their quirks, beliefs, and overall traits. Have them do silly things, like playing “Rock,…[Read more]

@Daeus, yes! Gandalf has so many great quotes. My favorite is probably “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.” 🙂
@writefury: Great thoughts! Honestly, I forget to pray. A lot. And that’s not how it should be. But a lot of times, that’s the way people are; they need help, and suddenly they remember that…[Read more]

Absolutely @writefury! And the point is not so much ‘put as much Christian behavior as you can’ as it is ‘write your story inside out with Christianity at the center, and the Christian behavior will follow.’ It will flow naturally and realistically and characteristically into the story if it is the heart of the story.
I think it was @reaganramm…[Read more] -

You know what @writefury, I would absolutely love that, but I can’t say I’ll have the time. :/
Let me know when you’ve finished it, and I’ll see if I can fit it in with my schedule.
Winter is usually an incredibly busy time for us as a family, what with plowing the steep driveway and ferrying our cabin guests up and down in our 4wheel drive.…[Read more] -

Hm… well @writefury, he would probably begin by telling whoever asked everything that his name was not. 😛 From there he would probably devolve into some convoluted explanation of why his name wasn’t important and how there are other things to worry about, and wind up with some completely random thought that would leave the questioner in such a…[Read more]

@writefury, I’m going for the rewrite thing. I’ll have to do some research for this, but I want to do ALAP (as little as possible).
@kate-flournoy, I’m not perfectly confident in myself, but I’m sure I’ll succeed. I tend to be optimistic about what I’ll do and optimistic about what I’ve done. But then I think to myself that I might not really be…[Read more]

You know this is really funny, @writefury, but because your Cobalt and my Denholm are similar personalities I find myself comparing how one would act in a certain situation to how the other would act. I’m beginning to find distinctions— Denholm in this situation would probably not have tried the whiny approach (I absolutely love the way Cobalt…[Read more]
