It’s usually my way of winding down from writing a really tense scene.
It works very well. Though my siblings usually wonder why I’m laughing so hard. XD -

This thing is just too hilarious not to share with fellow writers.

Mr. Batson’s interview reminded me of it.
Copy and paste the ones that make you laugh the most below!

When your little siblings write fanfics of your books
My sibs don’t do that yet. But they play games and were playing multiple games of acting out my stories. Which was totally adorable.
You know you’re a writer when you have to break up a fight between your siblings of who’s going to play the favorite character. 😛

I’ve not really all out cried at a book before. But the Peleg Chronicles made me tear up at a few moments.
I’ve cried at a couple movies, though. Maybe the visuals get me. 😛 -

LOVE this poem. o_O Wow. Great job, Sarah!
I don’t have a lot to correct, but there’s one line:rangers in a world abounding with royals,
It’s a good line, but I just think it could be a little better. The start of “rangers in a world…” could be taken a lot of places, and not all authors write medieval fiction. 😛

Thanks! 🙂 I felt a little bad about that actually… I’ve done something like this before (with the weekly prompt, word limit and all…) and I’ve won 2 of the 5 that have been done so far. If I win again I might drop out for a few weeks. 😛
Cool! Yeah, you mentioned that before. Actually, I named him Harold because I had a stuffed blue butterfly…[Read more]-

No seriously, I used to have a little stuffed beanie baby puppy… sniff sniff… I named him ‘Pettum’ because I liked to pet ‘im. 😛I was a little younger then.

Wow. Great job, Kate! You had a great rhythm going throughout the whole thing that was really awesome.
I noticed the same part Daeus did, and I think I know what was my problem there.
You kind of have the beat going like “bum BUM bum BUM bum BUM”. Accentuating every other syllable at a pace you can nod your head to.
It sorta broke at the part:…[Read more] -

Don’t make love just HAPPEN. They should like each other for who they are as people BEFORE jumping into all the love stuff. A lot of books skip the “good friends” phase that is almost always there.
It has to make sense with both your characters and what they’ve been proven to do in certain situations. If it doesn’t you’ll just end up ticking off…[Read more] -

Rosey Mucklestone replied to the topic 1st person or 3rd person? in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 1 month ago
Interesting idea… though to some people it might be seen as almost cheating. Because in giving yourself a certain set POV, you’re setting yourself rules to work with. There’s a certain satisfaction to making a scene work in a POV that it’s hard it work in.
Not sure if your average reader would have issues reading that sort of thing, but I have…[Read more] -

The good thing about 1st person is that you get to know your MC really well and see everything through their eyes. But if you have a large cast and want to switch views occasionally, that might not be the best thing.
I like 3rd person better for most things, but 1st is more to-the-point.
What aspects do you have to this book? Is it more one…[Read more] - Load More
