That’s cool! What specifically do you do in food service? And that’s probably a good idea to stay with your family. I understand wanting to be close to them, especially because you were gone a while, and like you said, your brother’s graduating soon!
I’m on the other side of the state–I live in Eastern Montana and Lakeside is on…[Read more]

Wow that’s really cool! So is working in food service your only job? And do you live by yourself or with your family still?
And that’s a really great idea… I love how you’re just chilling haha…it sounds like you’re dealing with a lot less stress than the other adults I know.
ooof, learning boundaries can be so hard! But i’m…[Read more]

This was something my brother started:
Every night (except for Friday and most often Sunday and Saturday) during the beginning part of dinner, everyone takes 2 mintues to say something about their day. That could be anything from a work announcement, some encouragment they learned from the Bible, some animal/anything speical they…[Read more]

Yes. Knowing why we do things is so important!
Oooh! I forgot about the Sunday one! My family doesn’t have a “rule” about that one, but we all know Sunday is a day of rest and fellowship. I’ve actually been starting to not use computers on Sunday. Now, there are expections…last week my sister and I were creating some stickers on a…[Read more]

One principle my parents have taught us is that technology is a tool, not a toy. That tech can be used for good or evil.
We also have a standard that we stop using screens after 8pm. The bluelight from the screens disrupts your dopamine which you need in order to sleep well.
We also do not use iPhones and comupters alone in our…[Read more]

I don’t have phones, but my family does have a rule we aren’t allowed to bring technology into our rooms. Exceptions are made for the house phone for music or audiobooks, and occasionally the tablet for school. I don’t know that I’ve seen someone using tech super healthily. Maybe my mom. Neither of my parents are that bad with it,…[Read more]

We don’t have a lot of boundaries, but we didn’t get our own phones until last year or the year before that. I think the main thing is that phones have to be in the living room at night—which is a law I’m we have because I had the bad habit of being on my phone late into the night and even really early in the morning, watchin…[Read more]

Aight Jonas, did it
My boundaries aren’t super good right now, but this semester was technology-heavy because of my thesis, so I’ve been focusing on that. I think stress avoidance plays a huge factor for me, and being on technology distracting myself is better than crashing in a stressful situation.
And in all honesty, the things I…[Read more]

My parents use their phones in a healthy way, as does the husband and wife of dear family friends. (their kids don’t have phones either) but honestly the majority of the people i see and know spend more time on their phone than on anything else.

Hey, everyone! How are you doing?
I’m almost done with my first year of college, and for the final of one of my classes, I’m writing an essay about technology use. In conjunction with the essay, I have to give a presentation of some sort, so what I decided to do was conduct a survey to hear from other people about the topic and show what I…[Read more]

Yeah, I mean once you’ve repented and been forgiven, the Bible says that as far as the east is from the west, so far has God removed our transgressions from us. If He’s not thinking about it anymore, why should I?
Amen! This is what C.S. Lewis said: “I think that if God forgives us we must forgive our…[Read more]
