I’m glad you like it!!
Do you think Julius is going to believe?
Oh, whoops. I’ll switch that. Thanks for catching it!
Also, did you see your picture of Eldred?

Ellette Giselle replied to the topic Character Sketches in the forum Art 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Ok. Here is Eldred. I hope you like him!!
I did him in black and white because I realized I didn’t know the color of his surcoat, and since he is a knight that would be important. If you would like a version in color as well then I can do it if you let me know what color the surcoat is. If you like it black and white then that’s great…[Read more]

And here you go! Enjoy!!!
Chapter 14
Julius clenched his teeth to stop them from chattering. He shifted uneasily and leaned back against the wall. Ignatius betrayed me. He tricked me, and now he’s angry with me. It isn’t fair. I haven’t done anything wrong. I was only trying to do what was right, and now I’m locked up like a crimina…[Read more] -

I am so sorry…I just can’t keep up with the ammount of chapters you write
Haha, that’s ok! Thank you for the help you have been giving! It’s been awesome!
I was concerned that you might not have enough plot for a full novel,
I wanted it to be a novella, I just wasn’t sure if I could fully develop the plot in a novella, but it…[Read more]

@theshadow and here you are! I’ll stop in a minute to draw your lovely character. 😀
Chapter 13
Julius’ leaned his head wearily against the wall. His eyes felt like they had sand in them, and he was weary beyond imagining. Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to close his eyes and sleep. The nightmares were worse then the waking fear.Marcus was asl…[Read more]

Chapter 12
“Ignatius, what’s going on?” demanded Julius.“I’m doing what I came to do all along. It took me a while to wonder about without your guidance, but I managed. It seems…[Read more]

@theshadow here you go! Sorry it took a sec!
Chapter 11
Julius stood staring out of his window. It was not fully dark yet, and he was having a hard time waiting. After almost two months, he would finally come face to face with Marcus again. It seemed like they had been separated by a lifetime. Julius didn’t know what to expect. Love for his f…[Read more] -

So…I think it’s a really good idea. I mean, this is a dark world, although it’s not as dark as the world you might be writing about. But it’s still riddled with sin. I think that writing a book around horrible topics might just allow the goodness of God to shine through even more strongly–just like how a light is brighter in a dark…[Read more]

Okay, but this makes me think Ignatius is trying to arrest Marcus…
Now someone is starting to get tangled in the is-he-is-he-not? phase. Love it!!
the colosseum scene was the best part
NICE! NAILED IT!! I’m so happy that you liked it. I’m also really glad that it was your favorite. It was my favorite too.

Awesome!!! I wrote for 10 hours, but had to get off to run some errands with my dad. Hmm, challenges. I think on that.
Oh, btw, here is a trick that helps with writers block. Write 500 words a day. Just do it. (Sunday can be an exception) but write 500 words a day. you may come back and delete that scene later on, but it…[Read more]

@theshadow lol yeah I don’t know who that is
but I do the same thing. Whenever my dad tells me about the latest sci-fi book he’s been reading, I decide I want to write a science-fiction AU of whatever my current work is.
Right now, that happens to be that TF2 fanfic I told you about, and all nine classes (ten if you count my fanmade one,…[Read more]

@theshadow that is a dark concept….
but honestly, I just agree with everyone else that as long as you’re not presenting a dark concept as positive or good, you can write it, as long as it doesn’t take too much of a toll on your mental health.

If you want to show a sacrifice, I don’t think that’s inherently melodramatic 😊 It only becomes melodrama if you become blinded to story mechanics and the reader’s perspective in everything. Drama is fine as long as you can see everything from a bird’s eye view, and you seem to be a pretty practical person so far XD

Sara replied to the topic How dark is too dark? in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 months, 3 weeks ago
Well…look at my novel!
It has several dark elements, like child abuse, child neglect/abandonment, murder, evil guys running the world, hatred, prison camps, etc.
But the reason these elements are in my story is because my story is an allegory about Light and Darkness, good and evil!
I think your story is fine (unless you’re…[Read more]
