Chase laughed, for what was probably the first time in months. “It is magic!” His now bright blue eyes, rimmed with a ring of purple, sparkled. He laughed again as he watched her create more. She’s beautiful. He thought.

Sef giggled. “Wait, if it’s the Blue Raspberry…let me try…” she flicked her fingers, and blue sparkles shot from her fingertips. “Whoa.”

Chase shrugged. He took another sip, savoring the fizzy feeling on his tongue, and then tried again. Nothing. “Well, i-it was dra-ma-tic when i-it happened.” He smiled, and playfully flicked his fingers again, not expecting them to sparkle, but they did.

“I-I’m not com-plete-ly sure. I-I think it was my energy.” Chase tried again, but nothing happened. His eyes turned purple as he tried a couple more times with no results.

Chase’s face brightened, along with his eyes. “Mars, Marcel called it ‘so-duh.’ And why i-it feels that way…magic!” Chase flicked his fingers, causing little sparkles of light to come from his fingertips. He stared at his hand, surprised it had even happened.
