@that_writer_girl_99 @daeus I’m definitely not done, but was just warning both of you that I haven’t been here for the past half-hour. I’ve been helping my Mom with groceries, but I’m back now.

@that_writer_girl_99 I do it all the time too 😛 I hear other people talking about the method, and I just stare at them as I try to comprehend why I’d forgotten it.

@that_writer_girl_99 I think a good way to solve that might be with the infamous “what if?” question. Like “what if the protagonist said this? And what if so-and-so reacted like this?” That might help get chapter into motion.

@that_writer_girl_99 Yeah. I find straightforward is nice. 😛 Hopefully you’ll be able to work something out.

@that_writer_girl_99 The wall is not our friend. 😀
For starting chapter outlines, I usually have already written at least a little of bit of my book so far. Maybe a page, a paragraph, a chapter, a prologue. something that will get me going. From that, I’ll simply describe what happens in a few sentences and stem off of that for planning…[Read more] -

@that_writer_girl_99 *gives you motivational pizza too*
I jot down the rough idea/scene that I want to have in each chapter. For example: Chapter Two Protagonist breaks out of hospital. And then I go on to expand on that later, if I feel like it, by working out several ideas of how and when and why he’s doing that and everything. -

@Jane-Maree I’m back and setting out with epic music and scene structure to conquer that travel scene xD
@that_writer_girl_99 hello! *waves* I don’t believe we have met. Though I think I saw you somewhere in that discussion about Gollum earlier today 😉

@Rachelle I think everything’s been covered already 😛 I would just add that the reader might feel cheated if the character seeking revenge gets away without any consequences for his actions. Usually stories that involve revenge end in the protagonist either realizing how wrong their thoughts are and “converting,” so to say, or carrying out the…[Read more]

@that_writer_girl_99 Arg, stupid me. I just realized that the scene I’m thinking about is only in the extended edition of the Return of the King. Sorry. But yes, it’s also in the books. 😛
