Actually, Â I’ve never read Tarzan or seen the movie, so I’ve got no idea.
I read the poem and realised that I have read it before 😉 I’d just forgotten it. It was quite amusing.
Was the parody you mentioned “You are Young, Kaiser Wilhelm”? If so, I just found that in my wanderings and it was also quite amusing 😛

I loved Rikki Tikki Tavi too, mostly because I wish I had a mongoose to keep the snakes away from my house.
I think I’ve read some of his war poems, but that’s about it. Mostly I just really loved The Jungle Book stories. I read the Just So stories too.
All right, I’ll go look it up 🙂

Well, that’s true. We both share unpopular opinions about Jane Austen. Since we’re talking about authors now, what do you think of Rudyard Kipling?
I’ll put Alice on my neverending list of books to try again. Someday.
Though it seems to me it has failed in its calling if its a children’s book that can’t be enjoyed by children…[Read more]

Not just now, but if you’re around in half an hour or twenty minutes I might have regained enough strength to attempt one 😛

Thank you for your kind words 🙂
I know, I hate being sick but it happens to me with great regularity.
I’m sorry. We can’t seem to agree on anything. Simply put, as a child there were three books I detested as a child because they just seemed utterly ridiculous to me, and Alice in Wonderland was one of them.…[Read more]

@Rochellaine @Catwing @jenwriter17 @dekreel
I rise from the dead!!
Well, not really, but I have spent the last few days in bed with a fever, so I’ve felt pretty dead. I’m still feeling pretty dead to be honest.
Anyway, I’m also 6,000 words behind NaNo…yay…
Rochellaine, My opinion on Lewis Carrol is similar to my opinion on Jane Austen.

I dread the day bugs start flying without wings…
I have seen some of the episodes, but many years ago. What have they done to tick you off now? 😛

Starvation can lead to health hazards??? Who knew?
I can’t remember exactly how it went, but I once read aloud to my family an article on the Wright brothers which stated something like: “they lived together they’re whole lives but never married”. Â And I stopped after that sentence to say “thank goodness, as I’m pretty sure that’s…[Read more]

Where are you reading these things? In actual published books?

Hello, yes, I am here. I will have to go into town soonish, but I’ll end up at the library sooner or later and then I’ll be on again.

I just read the descriptions to my brother, who is a bit of a tea connoisseur, and he enjoyed them too 😀 Truly, Australian tea is boring.
I have no idea what that last one is even trying to say. Whoever wrote that certainly has no qualms about using adverbs.
Also, I’m just imagining you sitting there, surrounded by boxes of tea, typing…[Read more]

Australians obviously have much less interesting tea descriptions:
Our tea artisans masterfully select and craft Madura teas to achieve consistency, cup after cup, resulting in a superior taste, time after time.Â
How boring is that?
But seriously, if you just rewrote that first description a little, it sounds like a really bad romance…[Read more]

I’ve never come across green tea that smells like grapes. However it does sound interesting (and it sounds like it could be a heroine in a romance novel too, from that description).

Hehe, no 😀
Ooh, I like green tea very much. What makes this green tea particularly special?

Well, you know the Christmas child shoeboxes? I’m packing some of those today but I have to start by putting them together, as they came to me flatpacked.
