Well…No…I guess not.
Maybe this isn’t the best time, given the *cough* current conversation, but I’m editing a short story for a competition and I’m attempting to get rid of 489 words so that it fits the guidelines. Would you like to have a look?
Also, I’ve been thinking about your short story and you have a few options…[Read more]

My villains are probably the safest of all my characters, actually. I can only think of one of my villains who’ve died.
It gets easier the more you do it 😉

I’m proud of you, Bobert! *claps like a proud aunty* *gets a bit teary*
Cool! I love doing word wars, I’m super competitive.
Poor guy, getting dropped off a cliff. I knew you wouldn’t kill him, you’re too compassionate for that sort of thing.

Just so you know, I am an amazing superior being who lives in the future and I have killed my characters by poisoning them, shooting them, stabbing them, bayoneting them and executing them, but I have never killed a character by throwing them off a cliff…

@Dekreel EVERYTHING should be done over pizza. I agree with this characterized version of myself. XD

@Jenwriter17 yes same! I thought of that too actually.
Something else I thought of was that the king just handed over his signet ring to his second in command (now Mordecai) and like DUDE, DIDN’T YOU EVEN LEARN??? I mean, luckily it was fine, but still. XD

That point about their relationship being interesting is completely valid, but at the time I hadn’t worked out the details, and was originally thinking she might be older (Cosette, when adopted by Valjean in Les Mis, is eight or nine), but it ended up that she needed to be much younger than that for the timeline to fit properly, so…[Read more]

If I was stopped in the night, then I’d probably stab the guy with my pen. No joke, I’m very strong and a pen would hurt if stabbed in the right place.
I am paranoid and have thought about this way too often.

Ah…what kind of word count are you aiming for? I’m going to have dinner, so let me ponder and I’ll get back to you.
Okay, cool 😀

Yeah, it’s pulled all the time, especially in fantasy, I’ve found, and there’s usually absolutely no reason for them not to know.
You might as well let me know, I’ve not officially started writing yet so I can still pull apart the outline and add stuff…to a certain extent anyway.
I finished the story! I think you’ve got a good…[Read more]

You definitely need to read it! The plot of this one, which is tentatively titled The Former Things, will make more sense if you know the original plot, but I don’t think it’s essential that you be familiar with it. ATOTC is just a really great book!
Well, when I was first considering making the sequel, late last year, I had the…[Read more]

*squeals* Eep! I’m so glad you’re excited! I hope you like it. I’ve been planning/outlining/researching the sequel and I hope to start in April, I’m really looking forward to that!

I’m very erratic too. When I’m working on a first draft, I tend to knuckle down and finish a novel in six weeks, but when it comes to editing or short stories, I’m so random.
That’s what I figured, but I’m doing a bit of research anyway. I think she was about one and a half to two when she was adopted, I’d have to check my notes to…[Read more]

A Tale of Two Cities is such an awesome book! It’s in my top three favourites. I definitely will let you know. If you’re interested in reading the first book, which is Stars Fill Infinity here’s THE LINK to the topic I made on it, which has the links to the Google docs.
Thank you! You’re so sweet 😀

It’s fine, I’ve read the part one bit and it’s suitably mysterious so far. is this the 50s one with the singer? Or is it a different one?
Yeah, I guess that’s probably why we like it. I also just like knowing where the inspiration came from, or how historically accurate it was and the acknowledgements are just generally sweet.
Ha,…[Read more]

Sometimes I plan to kill someone, and then cave in and don’t. With one of my novellas, Comrade, I’ve changed between drafts whether or not a character dies. in the first draft he does, in the second he doesn’t, in the third he does.
Okay, I’ll have a look in a second. 😀
I like prologues too. If they’re well done, sometimes they…[Read more]

I meant to reply to this earlier. I’ll definitely be praying for you! Adoption laws are super crazy in Australia, I don’t know what it’s like in the US, but it’s no easy feat. I hope everything works out smoothly.

I’m sure she won’t mind that once you explain 🙂
I don’t have a problem with mermaids either, I remember someone else being a bit unsure of whether to have mermaids in their story, but I don’t remember who. So long as the world doesn’t start believing that they are real, which is actually something a startling amount of people…[Read more]
