@jenali Oh! Another ENFJ! Yeah, come to think of it, there are hardly any extroverts on KP…huh.
We could write books with jaw-dropping cliffhangers and only give them the resolution if they give us the world. -

@winter-rose Many people try to take over the world, but only I can do it. Because I am a dragon.

@jess @winter-rose @that_writer_girl_99 @daeus @ethryndal @graciegirl I’ll be copying what I wrote last night to my computer then adding to it, whether that be on paper or on the computer, whichever goes better.

@daeus Ah, technically. *wonders if that word was around before the word technology…*
We’re not technically in control, but we should be. That’s why I’m going to rule the world someday. 😉 😛 -

@daeus XD No kidding. Maybe that’s one of the reasons I like writing so much. Because I have complete and total and unlimited control over EVERYTHING…
And even if I’m not technically in control, I still feel like I am (and practically know that I am) and that I can basically run things how I like
Wait…are you saying, we’re not in c…[Read more]

@f5a8c3e92 I could never eat ten slices of pizza, even as a dragon, so you have earned my undying respect. *bows* The most I’ve ever eaten of one thing are pancakes a church thing once…something like eight. (or was it thirteen???) Who knows?
Piano I play as well, though I started about six months ago. On the other hand, I play guitar, and have…[Read more] -

@f5a8c3e92 Welcome welcome and thrice welcome fellow Tolkien fan and pianist and MBTI lover! KP is an amazing place and I’m sure you’ll be right at home in no time.
I’m also an INFP. And for the record, we have about five (at least) other INTJs on this forum and they’re all girls which just freaks me out because they’re supposed to be as rare as…[Read more] -

@jenali Looks like a good set of minor characters there! I like the fact that you have a foil situation with Teren’s house and the country as a whole. Those kinds of comparisons can make for effective theme development.

@jenali I would generally agree with that as an overall principle. I will mention, though, that with short stories you also have less space, so sometimes I think leaving minor characters undeveloped can make more sense in a short story given how little space you have to work with.
I haven’t read that book, but it sounds like a good example!…[Read more]

@jenali Got it. Sounds like a good arc for her then. With that piece in place, all of that looks good!

Yeah, when you make the plot goals secretly dependent on the thematic goals (which it looks like you’re doing here), the plot doesn’t always align as clearly with the character arc moments as it would otherwise. Sometimes you’ll want to look to a minor theme to keep the rest of the plot relevant, as it looks like you’re doing with…[Read more]
