@maryg3 Just search up “google forms” and you should be able to do that. And no, I don’t have any other ideas as of now, sorry.

Linyang Zhang replied to the topic What's the harshest critique you've ever received about your writing? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 2 months ago
@kathleenramm Probably someone said that the ending to one of my novellas was contrived. Lol. Maybe it was, since I was making it up as I went along. The person had reviewed one of my short stories favorablely, though, so probably I just need to work more on editing.

@maryg3 Hey, awesome! I’d love to read it, but unfortunately I don’t like putting my email out in public places. Could you perhaps make a Google form or something for us to input our emails into? That’s what I would do, anyways.

Linyang Zhang replied to the topic Add new ideas in now or later? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 2 months ago
1. To be honest whenever I come up with new ideas I just add them halfway through and then later go back and add them in the beginning. Saves a bit of time.
2. Totally! Usually my chapters are 6 and a half pages, sometimes they’re 13.

@sparrowhawke Yee a lot of classics use first person peripheral, actually! For another work I was debating between first and third and finally settled on first person peripheral. Pretty happy I did.

@sparrowhawke Greetings! I remember Blimey Cow vaguely from years past, but since a while ago I have not watched them. Twenty One Pilots I do love, as well as The Emporer’s New Groove.
Your name sounds familiar; are you on Story Embers as well?

Linyang Zhang replied to the topic Tense Choices in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 2 months ago
@sparrowhawke I am a big believer and an astute follower of third person past. First person only occasionally, and always in past tense. Sometimes second. Been trying out peripheral first lately. But yeah, no, I don’t like first person present.

@madelyn Hey there! Nice to meet you!
I think a good book is something that makes me feel something (no, not cringe or anger or absolute regret or anything like that) but one that makes you think about it long after you close the pages.
Full-time career? Well, I’m currently studying computer science, so…

Doing class on Zoom means I am continually thinking up new aesthetics to do. I’m starting a new aesthetic set for some of my bounty hunters, here’s two to begin with:

@gracie-j THANK YOU I’m glad you like it! I was bored lol and I haven’t made one in a very long time.
@writerlexi1216 Thanks! It’s probably one of my favorite titles of my stories so far. And thanks! The palette I love a lot.

@kathleenramm Yes, tons! All my faves at this point are classics, haha. Probably East of Eden by Steinbeck and The Brothers Karamazov most though.

It’s been a while since I’ve made an aesthetic for anything, haha…here’s one for my latest short story.

@nova21 (The shock factor made me cry haha…though I would have to argue that GWTW is sadder, even though it’s a more gradual process. But I love Steinbeck. Want to read more of him.)
Oh, those titles sound interesting! Will have to check out…at some point…

@daisy-torres Mine is a story called Visionaries, and the most I can say is that it’s about an insane boy and a dying girl off to create a new world. For colors I feel like that the aesthetic that @issawriter7 made me matches pretty well, which you can see on their awesome blog, but without referencing it I would say, sunset/twilight colors, gray,…[Read more]

@nova21 Of Mice and Men…. ;-;
Though, I have a question. If a book is written in the past concerning the author’s current time period, then it isn’t his-fic, I believe. However, if it is written before the author’s time period, like The Scarlet Letter and A Tale of Two Cities, then it is considered his-fic. So…my question is are the book you…[Read more]

Ha, nice quote! Didn’t think he said much of worth like that, but I guess he did!
Lolol it’s been a while since I read the books or watched the movies, but I’ve got great admiration for both Jango and Boba; they seem so cool haha
Yeah, they totally are.
I know this is an old topic, but believe it or not, Boba, Jango, and Din Djarin inspired my warrior people, the Realn. They are probably also the only reason I had any interest in Star Wars at all!
Wow this really was from 2 years ago 🙃 I feel old and lost
@rae The Mandalorians are so cool, aren’t they? I’m a bit partial to the clones, the way they were portrayed in the animated TV shows (Clone Wars, Rebels, Bad Batch), but I can agree the Mandalorians are an awesome group, both in their show and all the others.
It’s also really cool that they inspired your own people group!
