@kathleenramm I guess planning out chapters gives me a to-do list and a word count goal. I find that it’s easier to do things with a checklist, and it makes me more motivated every time I finish a scene.

I only just saw your comment, sorry 😛
I have the LOTR as one book as well, and I like it very well that way. You should see what my copy looks like. It’s worn almost thin from so much reading, haha.
Linguistics is fun! I’m toying with the idea of becoming a philologist.

@kathleenramm I’ve got such a rigid writing schedule for myself that I don’t actually have the time or brain cells to sit down and map out every single specific thing. So I don’t really call myself a plotter.
I have a very specific ritual when starting a new work: I open the notebook, leave the first sheet blank, and then on the second page I…[Read more]

I often feel as though every character in a book is the same. They all think the same and act the same. This is most likely because it’s one person writing them all. So I really like it when I can tell that the author took time to give each and every character individual personalities and quirks. It takes a lot of research and…[Read more]

It was interesting. I got through 2.5 songs, partly I think its because the quality of the soundtrack on YouTube wasn’t that great. But the song where Jane and Bingley meet was a little bit cringe worthy. I definitely plan on giving it more of a chance at some point in the future.
Okay…do the things that the others said to do, but…[Read more]

I think I’ve heard of the same one SeekJustice has. I remember looking up the cast recording after hearing Laura Osnes had been in it. 🙂 But no, I haven’t heard of a new one from this year. Is it good?
Speaking of birthdays…wasn’t yours earlier this month? I’m a little late, but I think I can still wish you a happy bir…[Read more]

Hmm, that’s really interesting, I hadn’t heard of that. Are you going to see it?
AWW happy birthday to SFI! *hugs* Maybe you could try taking personality quizzes for your characters and post the results. I did that and it was super fun. 😀 And maybe you could write something about what each character means to you. 🙂 AHH this…[Read more]

By the way, all my SFI fans, tomorrow is SFI’s third birthday and I’ve sort of made it a tradition to do an interesting post with some added trivia or something every year. Do you guys have any suggestions for something interesting to post?

@alia I’d heard of a Pride and Prejudice musical, but maybe not the same one, because this was an older one. Is it good though?

I’m not writing right now, but have either of you heard of the Pride and Prejudice musical? I just found out about it last night and I’m not sure what to think about it existing. It came out this year

@jenwriter17 Oooh, that’s exciting news! Hope it goes well 🙂
I haven’t done much writing lately because I’ve been focusing on my KP articles. Hopefully I’ll have some time for it soon though.

I’ve been doing pretty well. This year has been crazy though with Covid and quarantine and all that. But I’ve seen God working through it so that’s awesome. 🙂 I sent my superhero manuscript to a professional editor (waiting to hear back from her), and in the mean time I’ve been having fun working on about three other writing…[Read more]

Just lots of really horrible stuff to my best friend in particular, which has really been weighing on me, plus just the general stress of Covid, it coming into summer here which has a lot of anxiety for me, and trying to find a job.
