Welp, according to Professor Google (🤓) fella, short for fellow, comes from words meaning “partner”, “comrade” or “one who shares in a joint adventure”. So, even though we tend to use it in a masculine sense, etymologically speaking it may be neutral. . . which is rather weird.
Maybe felless, like chapess? 🫤🤣

Mel
“Yeah. They’re good.” Mel pushed the tray towards her. She wrinkled her nose at the remaining cucumber sandwich and pushed that back towards her too. She pointed across the table. “Can you pass some of that orange jelly?”
“It’s marmalade.”
“Who?”
Lucy passed the jar over. Mel spread some of the stuff on a cracker and tried i…[Read more]

Lucille
Lucy grabbed all the cucumber sandwiches but one – in case Mel wanted to try it – and stuffed one by one into her mouth. She tried to swallow too fast and fell into a fit of coughs, before finally answering. “Animals into kids. I’m weird, but they were too weird. Hey. Is that lemon?”

Melissa
Mel grinned and waved her hand in a welcoming gesture. “Then come sit down!” She retrieved a mostly clean cup and saucer from the ground and poured some tea for herself and her friend. Then she loaded her plate up with lemon bars and different kinds of crackers and cheese. Lucy joined her. Between bites, Mel began to tal…[Read more]

Lucille
Lucy took one look at Mel, covered in bits of cake and lavender-dyed frosting. She nodded and burst into raspy giggles.

Mel the Fearless
“Hehe, milk doesn’t have livers.”
Mel sat down in the middle of the wreckage and set to picking pastry out of her hair. There was a large bruise forming on her chin, but she was smiling. She eyed the bit of food that hadn’t already been smashed or thrown on the floor. “Are you hungry?”

also yes it was a bit hard to think of it initially but once his family was shown in canon I was like “Yep, this is exactly how it’d go.”
I guess it all comes together easier when it’s been illustrated in an animation/comic/whatever

It took me a bit but here
Lucille
“Humans?” One of the children shrieked and pointed. “It’s two of the humans!”
Suddenly the table was in absolute uproar. Several children picked up their plates and threw the contents at Mel. They began to yell and dance, somehow angry and exhilarated at the same time.
The girl with the horns was…[Read more]

also yes it was a bit hard to think of it initially but once his family was shown in canon I was like “Yep, this is exactly how it’d go.”

they are little terrors. he loves them. they dig trenches in the backyard together all the time.
I have a hard time imagining Soldier with kids, but I couldn’t imagine them doing anything else. That’s stuff I used to do as a kid.

I’m just messing around. XD I would not like to eat that flavor combo, but I will accept your strange tastes. (Strange only to me, apparently. Perhaps I am the weird one for not liking the sound of it and being raised in Wisconsin.)

Huntress
“….I think she’s the most precious thing in my life. I’d do anything for her. Is that…how you feel about your brother?” Gabriel asked.
Is that how I felt about Scout?
Oh, sure, he annoyed the heck out of me more often than not…. But Gabriel’s words were actually scarily accurate. He was right. If I ever lost my twin–a…[Read more]
