@aislinn-mollisong 😀 Now, you just need a nice heavy electronic beat to go along with a robot singing XD
Those are actually really neat, though. (Once you disregard the extra text XD) I love when stories have in-world songs and lore, it makes them feel much more rich and solid. And having them as chapter headings is a really good idea 😀

@mnvalentine 😀 That’s interesting
It does all make sense, because I have read some urban fantasy. It’s more…breezy, and simple, in language, I think. Not like some high fantasy, which delves deep into rich language and carefully described scenery. Maybe I’ll try urban sometime 😛
😀 Well, I have a few. But the one I’m mostly working on right…[Read more]

@rochellaine Actually, I don’t really watch that many. 😛 But I read a lot of history, especially from that time period. And sometimes I just read a lot about a random subject. For some reason I know more about Ginger Rogers than any of her other contemporaries XD

Sam Kowal replied to the topic Story Idea Help!!! in the forum Novel Idea Critiques 6 years, 10 months ago
😀 That idea would totally work. It’s a really intriguing one. It’s not entirely new, Bryan Davis used something similar in his Echoes from the Edge series, which is also written from a Christian point of view. Your ideas with the music sound a little more elaborate and exciting than his, though. Echoes from the Edge is…[Read more]

@rochellaine XD XD XD 😀 😀
Those are hilarious
I thought no one
Would know I was reading these poems
But upon reading these tales
I quaked such a gale
That all of my family was drawn by my laughter
Like animals called, sought the source of such clatter
And upon seeing the poems, only left after
They assured themselves nothing was…[Read more]

@mnvalentine 😀 Welcome to the bestistest place on the internet!
Stan is thrilled to meet you. (Stan is my dragon pal. He’s spiky and can’t fly, due to unfortunate circumstances at his birth.)
😀 I love Narnia, too. And also Harry Potter. I read both of those series when I was a lot younger, and I’ve reread them both probably at least half a…[Read more]

@aislinn-mollisong XD Well, that rules that out, then.
“National animal, forbidden to everyone!”
Although actually that would work if only nobility were allowed to have them
:/ I’m not sure, then. Besides having more powerful enemies.

@rochellaine 😀 That’s funny that he said that XD, because yeah, then later they iconic for their dancing.
Although, it does make sense seeing that she was new to him.
And Ginger was kind of a multifaceted performer, too- actress, singer, and dancer, although she was most remembered for dancing, I think.

@graciegirl XD Well, they aren’t all novels or full length books. One of them is a novella, and the other is a series of a few short stories. And then one is the starting of an epic fantasy, and the other is a standalone book in very early planning
😀 Personification sounds really cool
Actually, so does For Lor, too :D. Stan wants to read them…[Read more]

Sam Kowal replied to the topic Optimistic character consistency in the forum Characters 6 years, 10 months ago
@gabbyj Hmm
Well, being optimistic doesn’t always mean being extremely lighthearted, but it does mean looking at the best sides of situations and seeing the best in people. That doesn’t have to change, even if the story gets more intense and more challenges come as it progresses. The character’s optimism will just have to shine out through the…[Read more]

@aislinn-mollisong 🙂 Great. I think making challenges for the dragons as characters could be an important thing in general. Also, building off of @skredder ‘s idea, what if the dragons had to stay in hiding the whole trip? Sort of the same as being forbidden, I just thought I could add that maybe almost everywhere Amber and Brendan travel, the…[Read more]

I don’t think writing people, who aren’t necessarily human, is unsound at all, but that’s just my opinion. The way I see it, God has the imagination and the power to create anything that he likes, and he’s gifted us with a small and limited shadow of that power and imagination (now that I think of it, kind of an aspect of being…[Read more]
