Holidays are never as fun when you’re worried people will die once the feastings end.
       The farmers of the city of Kurr are human, because no dwarf wants to hoe grain when they could be winning glory in the exosuit arena. So when food got low in the winter of 1276, the dwarves robbed us of our crops.
 We had no exosuits, but we planted c…[Read more]

@introvert_girl 😀 Thanks
I haven’t seen fantasy/dystopian/sci-fi mixed that much and I thought it would be a cool idea to do.
😀 The story would explain more about what Limnet ends up doing, but basically… both
No fantasy at all? *Stan rolls over and dies cuz he’s a fantasy creature*
Thanks for your feedback, though! 🙂

I thought I’d make a thread specifically for synopses, so if anyone else has one they’d like to post here, please do:)
The other reason is, I have a synopsis of my own I’d like to post.
My story is sort of a fantasy/dystopian mashup, in a fictional city where dwarves control humans with powered exosuit armor as weapons and the food supply is…[Read more]

@daeus XD Lol. You may have heard of that book. It’s a fairly popular fantasy… go to a bookstore or a library or Amazon and ask for stuff by Tolkien and it should be in the results…
Right. XD As long as they get a taste of what your story’s about, and the premise sounds interesting, it’s usually fine if your summary sounds like something off…[Read more]

@josiebeth 😀 Welcome to the bestistest place on the internet!
Nice to have another contemporary YA writer here. 🙂 I write fantasy, mostly. Me and my pet dragon, who’s named Stan

@daeus I have three suggestions off the top of my head, but I have no idea if they would want to or not.
N.D. Wilson- contact@ndwilson.com, ndwilson.com
I’ve read all of his books, and thought they were gripping. I’ve been in contact with his wife about book merchandise a couple times so he would probably respond 😛
J.R. Rasmussen-Â …[Read more]

@epicaddie2 That’s neat 🙂
I’ve read a little of Andrew Murray before, although not much, and thought he wrote about faith and prayer very well.
I’ll see if I can find a copy of On Prayer sometime soon. That may have actually been what I read awhile ago, I’ll have to look back into it to remember

@dragon-snapper 😀 The Fantasyland Stans, of course.
No, hmm… I do live in New England. Probably the Patriots. You never know, though. Maybe the soaring brilliant Eagles…depending on my mood

@daeus *Eyes widen in shock* *Stan roars like all the raspberries on earth are gone*
You don’t like The Secret Garden or Starship Troopers?
How alarming. What about that opening scene from Troopers? With bombs exploding, soldiers para… um, capsuling I guess… onto a planet full of aliens and destroying stuff?
I must admit, those two book…[Read more]

@rochellaine 😀 This is a great topic.
Not really an un-famous person, but:
It is the writer who might catch the imagination of young people, and plant a seed that will flower and come to fruition.Â

@jenwriter17 You know you’re a bookworm when the tensest, most heartbreaking moments of a book make you get up and start pacing around the room, and the severe losses make you physically start banging the floor.

@amily-huddleston 😀 Welcome to the bestistest place on the internet!
I’m a writer of mostly fantasy, but your WIP sounds awesome 😀 C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien are two of my favorite authors as well. It’s great to have you, a realistic fiction writer is somewhat unique over here where fantasy and sci-fi are really popular.

@dekreel The first one… Tragim
The second… Caicurog
The third… Dekrezvesch
As for descriptions, hmm.
Slasizch
Slasizch is a massive, hulking, bug eyed beast. He actually looks truly terrifying- like a giant crustacean from the ocean, with a carapace and massive claws that could crush cars in their grip. He makes a high-pitched…[Read more]
