@kina-lamb @jane-maree , Thanks for the tips! =) Those are great ideas, and I’m sure I’ll use them. 😉
@dragon-snapper , Can’t get much better then what @kate-flournoy said!
I have decided apon the name Douglas Clark. I really, really like it! Thank you all for your help.
@emma-flournoy , Thanks for your imput! I’ll tell you when I have a definite name… hopefully tomorrow.
@ethryndal , I hate receiving spoilers, so I promise I won’t spill anything. 🙂 I pronounce it Thay-o-den. How about you?
@Sarah-h , I actually have an Edwin in another book I’m in the middle of, that takes place in the 1200’s! 🙂 So, I like it too.
@dragon-snapper , I’m glad you are getting over yours. Now you can pass the torch (or the pen 😉 ). That’s one of the things I love about writers. No matter how good (or bad) they are, everyone can relate to writer’s block. It’s not solitary. (Hallelujah)@ethryndal , Yes! I have read (and own) Wingfeather Saga! One of the best series!
@kate-flournoy , Douglas is really good. I guess I’m going to decide a little more on some parts of his character before I finalize, but I really like Douglas!
@ethryndal , Unfortunately, I have been cursed with changing a character’s name… from Steve to Alfred… yeah. Terrible idea, but I much prefer Alfred. It fits much better. I totally agree, it’s terrible. Names are almost the hardest part of the book. Well, and titles.
I don’t really like common names so much, but I like names that are easy to pronounce. It’s annoying in some books every person in my family pronounces the name different. (And I am rambling, sorry)
Anyway, I would love to have found the key to writer’s block, but I haven’t. Let me know if you stumble across it. 😉@winter-rose , Oh, I like Benjamin! 🙂 That’s going in my top few.
@daeus , Digney is actually a really cool name! I wouldn’t use it on my main character, it doesn’t seem to fit, but I might use it on another character in the book. Thanks.@sarah-h , Awesome! I honestly don’t know my favorite horse. I am used to Tennessee Walking horses but I don’t know what my dream horse would be. Let me get back to you on that. 🙂
@gretald , Thank you!
Oh man… my favorite books… I have SO many it’s not healthy. Well, I’ll name a few (and forget more).
God’s Smuggler, Little Women, The Bronze Bow, Unbroken, Things We Couldn’t Say, Sherlock Holmes, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Borrowed House, and anything written by N.D. Wilson. (I also like the Wingfeather Saga, Harry Potter, Chronicles Of Prydain, Percy Jackson, Keeper Of The Lost Cities, Redwall, Ranger’s Apprentice series, King Raven and The Song Of Albion Trilogy) There isn’t much I don’t like, I’m not too interested in Amish Romance type books (I’m not very romantic 😉 ) , or Horror.
How about you? What are some of your favorites?@winter-rose ,
Thanks for the help! 🙂
Yeah! Puddleglum! Oh, Edmund is amazing!!@sarah-h , His name is mentioned, but he is not in it personally.
@sarah-h , Thank you. It’s in Virginia.
My family is actually going to be in AZ (Phoenix area) for a few months this year for my Dad’s job!
I have slept on a hammock, but that was right under our deck. 😉 Not camping at all.
Yes. Horses (and dogs) are my favorite animals. I haven’t done mountain trails, but rolling hills and pastures! 😉 How about you?@sarah-h , Thanks for helping me with the tag problem.
Oh, that’s cool! Mine is based around king Richard’s (the lionheart) crusade.@sarah-h , Yes! It’s one of my favorites. I’m the kind of camper that doesn’t bring any gadgets! Just nature and people. When I was younger my whole church (about 60 people) used to go camping together for a full weekend, and that will always be one of my favorite memories. 😉
Now I bring my younger siblings about 2 miles down the road into our neighbor’s open field, by a river, and we have a blast. Actually, for Christmas this year, we got a whole bunch of cool camping stuff, and I’m really excited to go. Do you like it?(I did a blog post on it, if you want to see some pictures https://livingthesavoirslove.wordpress.com/2016/05/14/camp-out/ )
