@ingridrd Ow… Well thanks for officially breaking my heart. There should be some sort of warning at the beginning about the strong and sometimes fatal emotions this story will produce.
I love the tone. As I think someone already said, it’s very wistful and nostalgic—quite lovely. Quite sad. Beautifully done, mellon nin.

@Mariposa Oh, good grief. Cocoa. Everything else is an abomination and should not be tolerated by respectable human beings. *firm nod*

@dekreel OH MY GOODNESS JAMES HERRIOT. *grins manically* I’ve been looking high and low for a copy of his All Creatures Great and Small. I read his Cat Stories and Dog Stories and… *flails* Yeah. Good taste there.
Ooh, who’s your favorite actor?

@Daeus Well this is cool.
I have one thought to add to the whole diary debate thing… If the character only lives when he’s being written, how can he keep a diary? When does he have the time for that?
And I’ll have you know that this story has ruined my life. I’ve spent the last day or so pondering the fact that the ‘Hero’ isn’t actually the…[Read more]

@Jess I (obviously) concur with what they all said, but I’d like to add a side note to Daeus’ point: If the world is better off than it was before, even if (and possibly because) the protagonist didn’t get what she wanted, than at least a small victory has been achieved, no matter the personal cost to the MC. The reader will recognize this and be…[Read more]

@Emma-Flournoy Actually… no, no it’s not. More like fairytale. She’s a stepsister. (Whether it gave that impression or not… I kinda forgot about creating a proper atmosphere.)
Come to think of it, she’s only that evil 60% of the time. I suppose the collage caught her at a bad moment.

This is the thing about Kingdom Pen: You go forever thinking someone is 18, but it turns out, they’re actually twelve or something. This has happened to me on multiple occasions.

Guys! Look, I made a thing. This is not my protagonist, but she’s another (very cool) personage that I’m having fun with. (*cough cough* Can you say antagonist?)
@Emma-Flournoy This is the one who’s character page you were snooping on. 😉

Okay fine, I see your point. And honestly, he’s probably the most realistic hero of all the teenage heroes, considering he represents the most normal way of life. Leia or Padme or Rey couldn’t whine, because they’d never known any other way of life than hardship. Luke, on the other…[Read more]
