Not scared me in a bad way, but thrilled and creeped me out and fascinated me. Haggard just scares me 😛
I only wrote 1k but it was terribly confused and strange. So I went back to my outline. Have you tried the Snowflake method? You might prefer that way of outlining.

Ah, I see (and The Magician’s Nephew scared me too).
I don’t even remember much about it, just that it terrified me when I read it years ago 🙂

@rochellaine Recently I’ve read An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde (which is very funny), 1,000 Things Worth Knowing by Nathaniel C. Fowler Jr. (Not really much worth knowing, but some interesting stuff), and My Chinese Marriage by Mae M Franking (A great biography type book).

Just curious, why did you suggest it to Kaya if it was too horrifying for you?? I’ve only read King Solomon’s Mines and it terrified me, and I’ve never been able to look at Haggard again.
Hey. Its going pretty well. Yesterday I had an idea to start writing the third book of my trilogy without an outline, but I got 1,000 words in,…[Read more]

@rochellaine *Blushes with shame* No… I quit. It was just a bit too weird for my taste. However, that did get me started on reading random Gutenberg books, which is fun. 😃

@rochellaine Hmm, that Elsie Dinsmore article was interesting. I am a bit disturbed by the things mentioned in the article, but it is only now that I am realizing that those things happened in the books, 11/12 year old me had no clue.
I think what bothers me the most about it is her repeatedly saying that she will not let her daughter read…[Read more]

Justice is two and a half/three years older than Zac. And they are twenty-three and twenty respectively.

@seekjustice, @rochellaine, can I have the link to the Elsie Dinsmore article? I haven’t read it in a while, but I always enjoyed them so I was wondering what the article said.
anyone writing right now? I’ll be here for about 20 minutes

Well, I’ve just been reading several histories of British kings and some of my favourite names are the Anglo-Saxon kings…Aethulbert, Aethulwulf, Aethalstan, Aelfred. Great names 😛
Yeah, it has a really nice meaning!
Yes, that’s the one I meant. So far, I’m sure it makes zero sense, but at least I’ve started (though I am working…[Read more]

They’re both pretty cool names!
I thought Dalbert was really odd. It’s like Albert, but with a D and that just seems crazy. Elbert is also quite strange and brings to mind an Anglo-Saxon prince or something. Amadeus is strange, but we’re more used to it, probably thanks to Mozart.

Exactly how unusual are you thinking? More along the lines of Addison or, say, Adeodatus?

I wouldn’t either, but I’m not adverse to the idea of praying for a husband (as in, praying for the guy, not praying that I would get one)
We do change a lot, don’t we? I don’t remember ever having a specific list though. I still don’t have one now, to be honest.
