Well, first of at, @dragon-snapper, I have to warn you, you have tagged one of the most picky proof-readers/editors I know – me! So, yeah, it’s only because I want to help make your work the bestistest you can make it. Forewarning, now for some edits 😉

@emma-flournoy Well, my dad suggested it when I made a Facebook page and didn’t want to use my real name. Louise is actually my middle name.

@ethryndal I do believe I have a better chance with the Home Life one. I didn’t feel the one I entered for Bunyan was my best work, due to all the limits they set. I’m actually going to rewrite the story, though, as a full-length novella, at least (we’ll see where it goes) because the idea was great, but it was written a bit weak.
Haha, nope,…[Read more]

@julia-r No worries there, I found it helpful too (and have now stuck it in my sticky notes for future reference 😉 )
Wow, 65 pages and only 4 chapters?? That’s amazing! How many pages do you make your chapters? Mine are generally between 5-7, but I’m noticing that most books are probably a big longer

@perfectfifths it sure does!!! Thanks so much! Sorry I made you look it up… I’m actually in the middle of my very first novel (which I have written more than four chapters of :D)! I’m at 28,925 words and 65 pages, which is pretty exciting for me! Maybe I’ll actually finish it this time! 😛

@daeus Haha, maybe a little 😉 I’m actually not too disappointed about it (I think my brother was more disappointed than me XD)
@julia-r Well, according to Wikipedia
Classification Word count
Novel 40,000 words or over
Novella 17,500 to 39,999 words
Novelette 7,500 to 17,499 words
Short story under 7,500 wordsDoes that help? 🙂

Hi Julia, thanks! I like to write mostly realistic fiction, but also some fanciful fiction or allegorical type. What about you? What is your favorite time period?
I like fantasy and sci-fi. I love writing short stories. As for time periods, I love the medieval era, Renaissance period, and also pre-Christian eras. I think there is so little known about exactly what happened when in those times that you could make almost anything happen and you wouldn’t really have to worry about dates or what was invented…[Read more]
I think fantasy is cool, but I’m not so good at writing it, usually. My sister is pretty good at that, I think. I do think medieval era is pretty fascinating. Those time periods would be pretty easy to write about. I’ve always been really interested in WWI & II era. Usually, when I try to write short stories, they turn into novels…that have yet…[Read more]
