@aratrea Thanks for your feedback 😀 I think as my friend and I work on the story, we’ll be able to explore those answers a little better – right now we have two characters, one who is doing a mix of 1 and 5, and the other of 2, 3 and 5.

Here is what I came up with for the story I am co-writing with one of my friends. It’s not great (the story is very unfinished, but we know where we’re going with it, for the most part) But so far in the story, this seems to be one of the bigger themes.
Story: Askye
Theme: Overcoming the odds
Focusing Question: How can we overcome the odds?

I like seeing unusual birds come around our house. When we had rabbit and guinea pigs, hawks, or some other kind of large bird sometimes were hanging around. Usually one at a time, and they never did anything, in the end, it was mites, a feral cat and disappearing that ended each the piggies 🙁 The rabbits we gave away.
And one time a butcher…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper Nice. Are you a bird-watcher or anything like that?

@emily-d No, it’s a magpie 😛 And no, not necessarily. I mean, I like birds, but I’m not an avid bird-watcher and I don’t know heaps about them 😉

when you finish a really good book and you just close it and stare at the wall for a minute, trying to process everything you learned about writing from it.
Yes! I can relate! 😀

@challenge Exactly, yes. It makes it that much more realistic (not that it’s very realistic anyway) XD

@emily-d I think superheros that don’t have powers but have lots of cool gadgets are cooler than superheroes with the powers.

Haha, seeing as someone has to die, let’s make it the one people will least expect/give the readers and characters more heartbreak XD

@emily-d Yeah, we saw it in cinemas on Boxing Day, I think it was 😀
Well, I’ve never read any superhero comics and I haven’t watched any of the superhero movies, but my favourite superhero is Batman. The only Batman movie I’ve seen is LEGO Batman, but watching that, I think I’m more interested in watching/reading/learning about him 😉

@emily-d Pumps fist into the air excitedly because she can’t open the forum quick enough I LOVE TINTIN!! I love it more than Calvin and Hobbes!! I’ve got all the books except for the second one, Tintin in the Congo (its’ pretty hard to get, I think, because Herge was ashamed of it) including the unfinished Alph-Art. @bethanysinkyroses Hola! 🙂 I was curious, how do you study the Bible? I’ve been feeling the same way, with wanting to do more than just reading, but I’m not sure what the next step is. Isn’t First Peter an awesome book? What are your favorite books in the Bible? Mine change often, but right now they would be 1 Peter and Phillipians.

@DanceFree7 Sure, I would love to proofread them. 🙂 I’m sorry I didn’t reply sooner; I haven’t been on KP lately. It’s neat that you’re self-publishing. Is this your first book?
