I can’t decide if snakes are just devious, or if they’re simply in the wrong places at the wrong times . . .

It’s okay, @bluejay . I whacked the evil snake with a stick, who slithered off, and the chick was just fine . . . a little terrified, but fine. 🙂

You’re kidding! My sister had a copperhead snake lunge and snap at her heel when she was on her bike once. Scared her to death. Probably has something to do with her hatred of them . . .

My sister hates snakes, but I just don’t like them hiding in my hay shed . . . or getting caught in the runners of the sliding barn doors and dangling over my head . . . or curled up right where I’m about to sit down in the grass . . . or trying to squeeze my baby chicks to death.

Yaaaayyy! I’ve sent my poem to Kingdom Pen! Whew!

Now I’m working on that short story for you @spradlin . I didn’t end up entering it in the contest because I was too busy with other writing projects to work on it, but I’m still planning to finish it. 🙂
