Yes, much better. My stomach ache went away in the night, and hasn’t come back yet. Still aren’t sure what exactly was going on.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for me!

You write animal stories, right? (If I tagged the wrong people by accident, sorry)
This seems like your forte.

#AnduthForever (💕)one vote for everyone would be better than two for everyone, since with two there’s more likely to be a tie.

We are doing the 10 seconds, 1 minute, and 10 minutes (10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes) challenge! Choose whichever time you’d personally prefer to do and do it. Just when you post your art, specify which times you were doing.
Have fun!
I will be participating

#AnduthForever (💕)I’d like to ask for prayer. I woke up this morning with a really bad stomach ache, but it went away after a little bit on its own. It returned while at crew tonight, and got so bad that I couldn’t straighten myself because it hurt too much. I sat in the car for a while and took some medicine, it got better but has been a dull ache since then sometime getting a little worse then better. Not sure what is going on.
Yeah, so please pray

Sorry, I meant to post these yesterday but that was Ezra’s birthday so I got kinda busy.
Here are the new challenges to vote on. I am including some from last vote that people seemed interested in.
A. The pause art challenge (I’m just gonna copy-paste the description from the first time) You’ll probably have to look this up on YouTube to understand what it is, but basically you create a character by pausing a video as it cycles through gender, skin, eyes, mouth, hair, outfits, and accessories. Each video may vary in categories and beware that some videos related to this challenge have scanty outfits shown. This challenge is for more stylized art styles, so if you do realistic and don’t feel like stepping into the world of stylization, this probably isn’t for you. Though, I did find a short for this challenge that could be applied to realistic.
B. Pen challenge Make a drawing using only pen, no pencil
C. 10 seconds, 1 minute, 10 minutes For this challenge, you draw the same item three times, but with three different times, 10 seconds, 1 minute, and 10 minutes. There is a longer version we can do: 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes. If we do this challenge, let me know which time you’d like to do.
D. Non-dominant hand challenge This will be a fun one, since unless you draw with both your left and right hand regularly, everyone’s drawings are gonna look funny. i think the name is pretty self-explanatory, you basically draw with your non-dominant hand.
REMINDER! Just because I’ve posted the next challenges to vote on, doesn’t mean you’ve missed your window to submit your drawing from the three-marker challenge if you haven’t already! Though, plz submit your drawings before Tuesday, since that is the day we adopt the new challenge.
Voting ends Monday night.
Also, feel free to let me know of any challenges you know of and would like to try!

#AnduthForever (💕)sorry, I meant to reply to your question but KP wasn’t working for me.
Digital is fine, as long as you stick to the colors 🙂

#AnduthForever (💕)A little message to those who are new to drawing. Most How to Draw books aren’t worth the money!
Most of the ones I’ve seen look like this:
Yeah, they show how they got from one to three but they don’t explain anything. They don’t explain anatomy or technique, just how to copy them to get the results they got. While you may learn a couple tips from a How to Draw book, you may also develop bad habits from going about the technique incorrectly because they just showed results without any really helpful tips. For instance, naturally when we first begin drawing, we usually use our wrists. This is bad technique because it can limit the fluidness of your drawing. Moving your elbow and shoulder, with your wrist resting on the page, usually results in longer, better strokes.
These How to Draw books also can make you kinda dependent on them. Since they don’t explain anatomy or how to actually pose people except how they show, you only know how to do the drawings they have.
Please note that not all How to Draw books are bad. Some are actually really, really good and helpful. But most of the How to Draw books I see in places like Hobby Lobby only have the Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, and final product, little to no explanation.
If you look into getting yourself a How to Draw book, consider looking for some How to Draw Anatomy books instead of How to Draw People books, because if you learn the anatomy, you will understand how to draw people. Look for tools, tips and techniques, not for unexplained results in How to Draw books.

It’s totally fine. Discussion is good.
But thank you @mineralizedwritings for moving it to the Chat Chat.

#AnduthForever (💕) I did copy the pose from the game though…so is that bad?
Of course not. You still drew the drawing yourself, and most the reason people need references is pose much of the time.
Thanks, and please do, anything!
Okay. I noticed in your picture that you made the sketch out of very short lines. This is often called ‘chicken scratching’ and all people do this when they begin drawing, and it often takes a lot of practice to get out of the habit of doing it. I personally am still working on minimizing my chicken scratches rn myself.
Instead of making extremely short strokes with your pencil, try making longer ones. The less lines used to make up one entire line, the more finished and clean your drawing will look. What can help with this is instead of drawing by moving your wrist, lift your elbow off the paper, and draw using mostly motions from your elbow and shoulder. It will take practice, but it will make your art look more clean, more like a finished drawing than a draft sketch with color (not to insult your drawing. I still think it’s cute).
Hopefully this is helpful.
Don’t feel discouraged if you have trouble learning how to not chicken scratch, as I said, it will take practice. It also doesn’t help that for the amount of people online who complain about chicken scratching and why it isn’t a good thing to do, very few give tips on how to not do it.
Also note, that some people embrace it as part of their style, which is totally fine, even though its condemned by a lot of other artists, so if you totally want to ignore my criticism, go right for it. I won’t be mad at all.

#AnduthForever (💕)Wow, I was not expecting to get 25 notifs, all but two from this forum, when I logged on this morning. I’m glad everyone’s having fun 🙂
Of course you can use references!!!! I know you already posted your art, but I wanted to let you know this for the future. I’ve heard online many times people saying that “true” artists don’t need references. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM! Yes, some artists don’t need references, but many still do. Even ones who have been drawing for decades. I use references for almost every single one of my drawings. My drawing for this challenge, I pulled up a picture of a small pond with water lilies. For my last drawings I posted on the Art Sharing forum, both were done with references that I leaned very heavily into. Use references as much as you need to, just don’t trace them without marking them as traced and crediting the original reference.
Here is my submission, please do not throw up, I know it is bad…
Actually, my first reaction was that it looks really cute… The little smile is perfect. I actually like it.
May I give you one piece of criticism though? It might help with your sketches.
Cool! I really like the color palette! Using the purple for shadow looks great!
Wow, that looks gorgeous! As @whalekeeper said, drawing roses at angles is hard, and even though the angle is a little off, I think it looks awesome, well done!
