His chest clenched, and the voices got louder again. “Yes,” he responded. He pulled up his sleeve, showing her a glowing red vein going down the inside of his arm. “This is why.” He allowed more red veins to glow underneath his skin before extinguishing them again. “They say…they say my birthmarks were a warning, a warning that I would grow into a demon. That’s why they call them ‘devil marks.'”

Help Gabriel.I’m EST. I’m busy this Sunday all day.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays I am gone 4:00 pm into late evening.
One Tuesdays I’m busy the entire later half of the afternoon until late.
Other than that, I’m pretty free most the time. Once we have a time and date set I’ll check with my parents.

Help Gabriel.How did I know Lucy would notice? I figured she’d do it silently, but I was apparently wrong on that point.
I just remembered he still has a cinnamon roll wrapped up in his pocket he got there with. He didn’t ever eat it, planning on giving it to Lucy.
Also, Mel is super cute.

Gabriel smiled softly at Mel’s enjoyment in a fur rug, his mask pulled back down around his neck, when Lucy’s question distracted him.
“Uh…yeah, that’s mine.” Of course she would notice. Of course she would ask. Gabriel quickly looked for some kind of distraction, something to keep her from looking further.
There wasn’t much to interest a child in the cabin, it was mostly bare besides the furs, tools, and simple furniture. His eyes stopped at a spot in the wall, with the clear imprint of a hand crushing into the wood. Yes, he remembered that, when his powers had taken control, just like when he was a child…when… He looked back at the stains on the rug, his pulse quickening.
The doubts he often had about then resurfaced. Maybe they had been right when he was a child, maybe he was…
He clenched his teeth and eyes shut as the voices screeched in his ears. Why? Why did they get so unbearable when he though about his past? Why? He wanted it to stop, he needed it to stop.
But he didn’t know how. Distracting himself only made them quieter, why did they rarely stop completely?
He leaned against the cabin wall, putting his head in one hand, trying to calm his rushed breathing and heart. Think of something else, he had to think of something else. He had to lull the voices back into whisperings again.

Just to be clear, the flowers are bushes outside of the house. I don’t think I mentioned that.

“Was that your blood?”
Gabriel looked back at the rug, and nodded. He’d bled on the floor more times than he cared to tell her. He hoped she wouldn’t notice more faint stains.
“So are these the monsters you were killin’ when you got hit by the hydra?” Sniper asked, pointing to the animal pelts. “Or are they normal animals from yer place?”
Gabriel, silently thankful for the distraction, answered him. “Most of them are from the normal creatures I ate. The rug beneath you and on my bed are both from the same direwolf, a monster. Most other monsters have more scraggly coats unfit for anything, or scales.” Gabriel walked to the table, picking up one of the hunters knives. The handles were coated in fine, bright green and brown scales with a slight iridescent glint to them. Their formation and small size weren’t unlike a normal snakes. “This was the hydra.” He handed it to Sniper.
Every detail seemed correct, down to every little stain. But how? The only people who even knew about this cabin so deep in the monster-infested forest Gabriel had lived in were himself and his master. Hunters never even went there anymore, it was too dangerous.
Gabriel opened the window, leaning out and cutting a bundle of flowers. He clipped off the two-inch thorns before handing them to Lucy. “The monsters of my home hate those. Something about their smell I think. They kept them away from me in here.”

“This is where he found me.” Gabriel stood, walking to the window and throwing back the curtain. Outside was a sea of delicate white flowers with pink centers, the origin of that sweet scent. “I had been bitten by a hydra, he stumbled across me looking for the person who was killing the monsters in the forest. I had a bad fever from the hydra venom, I don’t remember too much until afterwards.”

Help Gabriel.It’s late/early depending how you look at it and I had the sudden urge to post this here.
I think I told you guys about my presyncope which is basically the fancy term for getting lightheaded and falling over without passing out.
Well, Friday I had a bad day where I felt occasionally dizzy, my head feeling like I had been hanging upside-down. It didn’t really freak me out much, this happens occasionally and I’ve basically accepted it most likely will happen for the rest of my life. I was slightly worried because I had a regatta for rowing the next day.
Saturday comes, I won third in a single, and later ended up with sadly last place (there was no chance of winning that one in the first place) in a four. I felt a little tired as I can never get more than 4-5 hours of sleep before a regatta. My eyes were blinking a few seconds longer than normal as I carried one of our boats which honestly could have been bad if something happened.
As we broke it down for the day as a crew, I was standing next to our coach as I fell over. I barely caught myself from hitting my head on the asphalt, which really could have ended badly, but I was fine.
I don’t think this will ever truly go away. It’s very likely linked to my lymes, and so unless something miraculous happens, I will have it for the rest of my life. I’m not really worried about it, and that’s not why I’m typing this post at 2:30 AM.
I’m just worried because I fell over in front of almost my entire crew.
I consider my crew as a second family I get for a few hours three days a week. Something about me is that I will often hide things from my family because I don’t want them to worry.
I’ve mentioned before that I have lymes to my crew, and that’s the reason I cox some days instead of rowing, but they had never actually seen it. These are people I weekly work with, and I try to look strong in front of them even when I don’t feel like it because I’m next in line to be crew captain next season most likely. As well as a summer coach. I also have a group of 5 of younger girls who look up to me. All 5 were there. I don’t want them to worry, I don’t want them to really see when I’m weak.
I also don’t want them to try and “baby” me by not letting me row as much. I don’t row as much already, I don’t want to be pulled further away.
I’m not sure if any of that will happen. I’ll see them Wednesday.
I don’t even know if this made sense. Idk, I’ll post it and see if I regret it.
