@ariel-ashira @jenwriter17 I did mine on Google Docs. I copy/pasted the picture that it has on every page for the videos, and put text on top of it. I don’t know how the others did their’s.

You know you are a writer when you accidentally self-narrate in your head.

I think I’m going to the Arizona Homeschooling Convention.

@daughteroftheking *waves*
@ashlyvye I think it would be really cool to have the POV character actually be the “bad guy” for most of the story, then switch sides part way through. If you switched to mostly Macx POV, I think you would lose a lot of that.
On another note, it sounds like from your description that Haylie is actually the protagonist…[Read more]

@annaberens Thank you! I like your Beast’s name. In my mind, the Beast’s name is Ralph until I think of a specific name for him, like Tom.
Cool magic systems are one of my favoritest things. I actually wrote an article about it here, so you can tell I am pretty into this sort of stuff.

@annaberens I have heard of the Firebird! Actually, I have read a Beauty and the Beast retelling that included the Firebird! It’s crazy how I keep running into things that are related to Beauty and the Beast.

@annaberens Sorry for the late-ish reply. I went to a prom last night (which coincidentally was Beauty and the Beast themed!) and woke up this morning feelings like I had a fever, even though my temperature is fine. I’ve been in bed all day.
My first story is about a girl named Mary-Ellen who wakes up in a castle with no idea who she is or where…[Read more]

@annaberens Me too! I especially love the song Evermore in the new Disney Beauty and the Beast movie. @daughteroftheking and I both cried when we heard it for the first time. (And my brother sat next to me say, “You know that Belle comes back, right? She comes back.”)
I haven’t actually written the retellings yet, but I would be happy to share…[Read more]

@annaberens Welcome! I LOVE Beauty and the Beast retellings, and your’s sound pretty unique! I have two of them in the back of my head myself. 😉

@kaymart You do COVER-ART?!?! That’s so cool! If we are going to be comparing ourselves to other people, than you do way better cover art that me. While I managed to pull off a half-way decent cover of some half-baked idea in the back of my head, I have no idea how I am going to make the cover for my WIP, if I even get that far. *laughs, but it is…[Read more]

@kaymart Welcome to the bestiest place on the internet! *Throws more confetti of welcome-y-ness*
I write fantasy, but I read Christian romance suspense… sometimes… when I am really desperate for something to read… Anyways, it sounds like you have unique perspective from your experience! Looking forward to getting to know you more!

@sleepwalkingmk Cool topic! I haven’t even thought about titles that much. I like longer titles over shorter ones like “The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf”, because it tells me that the book isn’t taking itself that seriously, and I like those kinds of books. I actually have been thinking about a title for my own book recently. Right now I am calling…[Read more]

@ingridrd @dragon-snapper @daughteroftheking @catwing @aislinn-mollisong I’m breaking tradition. Three new sentences.
I wake to the sound of rustling grass and the smell of blood. Only, I can’t see anything, not even when I open my eyes.
“Did we win?” I mumble breathlessly.
Akila wipes stray hairs away from her face. “Yeah, why?”

@daughteroftheking Don’t take this the wrong way, but I have always thought of your stories as aimed for slightly younger audiences. In the snippets of your stories that I’ve read (about Tess, and Georgia Payne, I think), the tone has always been bordering on playful and silly. Those are my favorite kinds of stories, I wish there were more like…[Read more]

You know you are a Kapeefer when you are trying to think of a last name for one of your characters, who may or may not also be a Kapeefer, and just decide that their last name is “Kapeefer”.
