Hello! I’ve missed you lately 😀
My current book is a retelling of the life of pirate/botanist/navigator William Dampier, and Jeanne Baret, the botanist who was the first woman to circumnavigate the globe. To be honest, I’ve enjoyed the intense amounts of research I’ve done more than the actual book writing so far, but its really…[Read more]

@seekjustice Hey there!
I can’t stay for long, but…how’s it going?

I’ve missed our chats lately! I’ve just been so busy I haven’t had time for much writing, though I’m currently plotting a new novel and hope to make time to write during July Camp NaNo. How have you been doing? Is life normalish at the moment?

Hey there! It’s been forever!
I miss chatting with you all. I see that none of us have been around for a little while, sadly. I hope everyone’s doing well.
I’m going to see if I can appear here once in a while. I have been neglecting writing lately, but I do want to get back to a somewhat regular pac…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic FTOTW – What was a book you read that was bad, but you were hooked anyway? in the forum Start HERE 5 years, 9 months ago
The Flash TV series. Actually, all of the CW TV series (Arrow, Supergirl, Gotham). I’ve watched all of them, and didn’t really enjoy any of them ( stopped watching Supergirl and Gotham because the content was awful). But I watched the Flash in particular almost obsessively because for some reason, even though logically I knew the plots were awful…[Read more]

@Alia you tagged me at 1 this morning so I don’t think you’ll be here still, but what’s this new musical?
Also, have you heard the Prince of Egypt musical?

@millenium
Hello from one Owl City fan to another. 😀
I’m an Aussie who’s obsessed with dogs, to sum myself up. I also enjoy writing historical fantasy. What are your hobbies besides writing/reading?

Count Olaf is a pretty good villain, @erinramm. I liked him from the Netflix series.
I never really gave it much thought, but I guess I prefer the Moriarty from the books. The one from the series was alright, but I don’t even remember the one from the movies. He must not have been particularly memorable.
Honestly, I think I like the idea of…[Read more]

Hello! I love the Hunger Games too! I think my favourite book was 1. Not a huge fan of the movies but Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson did a great job portraying Katniss and Peeta.
What are some of your hobbies besides writing?

The amount I have varies per day but it’s usually between 15 and 25. And lol yes, they are so tiring!
Aw cats are awesome too! I don’t think I’ll ever have one of my own because my dogs are not keen on them, but I love my friends’ cats. Just curious, what breed is it?

Thanks, @kathleenramm. 🙂
I have seen those movies, @leon-fleming, although I wasn’t thinking of them in particular when I referred to Moriarty. I was thinking of the books.
I saw the last two Disney Star Wars movies unfortunately. I skipped the most recent one. I’m not a Disney Star Wars fan. The writing is just terrible (and there’s no excuse…[Read more]

Oh that’s awesome! And it seriously makes my job as a trainer so much easier (no joke, so many people underestimate the importance of things breeders do or don’t do). Are you looking at becoming a dog trainer for a career?
Well, for my job I mostly work with puppies 8-20ish weeks old. There’s a lot of diversity in the breeds I work with,…[Read more]

Being able to freak out an entire world of characters without ever actually being in the room? Maybe Sauron is the greatest villain of all time.
Darth Vader. Why did I not think of him before? Most iconic, in my book. He is also a good candidate.

@leon-fleming mentioned Sauron. I would say that Sauron is a brilliant example of a villain who distances himself physically from the story but is still very active within it. I often find myself marveling at this.
He acts through his minions, somehow escaping a passive role in the story despite the lack of physical presence.
Although… I guess…[Read more]

My favorite villain is probably Sydney Carton, but I’m not sure if he counts exactly.
And the six-fingered man.
Hmm… honestly the first one I thought of was Loki, but again, he’s a wishy-washy sort of villain overall. He lacks conviction.
Moriarty! Smaug! I like them too.
Mother Gothel… she was really good, I thought.
Captain Hook! Now…[Read more]
