@jenwriter17 I’m doing great! How about you?
What are you working on now?
I’m going to watch Bonanza with my family later tonight, so I’m excited about that. Have you ever seen it? You do like old tv shows, right?

@kaymart Hey! That sounds very interesting. I can’t promise I’ll be able to critique all your bits and pieces, but I can give you my comments on this one. 🙂
So, that bit of writing is very intriguing. I like the simple symbolism of the bending grass. One thing I think should probably be reworded is the part where Marcus says why he can’t lea…[Read more]

@rochellaine Hello! Are you still around?

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #19 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years ago
@alia Ah, I see. 🙂
Well, I would guess that’s probably because I’m only nineteen, so most people would assume I was in my first or second year. I started college a bit younger than the average age, I think. 😉
Part of what I like so much about Daughter of Judas is that my “antagonists” are the Christians, so that’s a big twist on the average…[Read more]

@alia That sounds interesting, though not something I’d want to do. I can’t stand anything that has to do with medical stuff. 😛 I hope it goes well for you.
No, I’m actually halfway through my third year. I’ll graduate in December of 2019.
Ah, I’ve even forgotten or skipped scenes I wrote for specific spots in my books. 😉 I guess it’s bec…[Read more]

@alia I’m doing pretty well, but am extremely tired. However, I have quite a bit of studying to do, so I’ll be attempting to keep awake for a while and review some legal definitions… 😉
Oh, fun! I write a lot of little scenes, and often many of them don’t end up in the finished book, 😛 so it’s cool that you’re able to actually put that in.

@valtmy That’s the same thing that happened with my western and DoJ. I currently have been actually writing on DoJ and making notes for my western, but that could change at any moment. 😀
@seekjustice Bye! I’m leaving now too.

Of course I like taking quizzes. Particularly history and literature ones 😛
My advice would be this: don’t give in. Or do give in. Depends on how strong you feel.
I’m actually one of the lucky ones who doesn’t get distracted by other WIPs.
Anyway I have to go now 🙂

@seekjustice Ah, I don’t know. Sometimes it’s fun to criticize. I mean, if we know better than the writers, we must know a lot, right? And isn’t it fun to know a lot? Or at least, to feel like you know a lot on one particular subject?
I was just on a quiz website the other day and passed the grammar, history, and literature tests with fly…[Read more]

@valtmy Good question. Maybe the house is backed up to a hedge, and since the stairs are easily seen by anyone, he wants to go by the hedge so no one can see him talking to her? They could be in the terribly cliche situation where her parents hate the guy, or at least he thinks they do, or he could be in hiding for some terrible crime against t…[Read more]

It is first and foremost about a family, but the plot would have been pretty flat without the war. Its alright though, I literally just then finished a war book and I’m unsure of what to say because it was just…terrible. I’ll forgive Sound of Music.

@valtmy Haha! Since window scenes specifically aren’t a cliche, why don’t you do a balcony scene instead? As popularized by Romeo and Juliet, balcony scenes are an iconic sight in romantic fiction.
