That is MY bad by using that word in that way, and I apologize.

So I guess what I mean is:

Active arc: Triumphing over a sin you didn’t know you had

Passive arc: Learning you didn’t have a sin you thought you had

Does that make sense?

I thought about my whole character arc thing for a little while longer (went to the pool and mulled over it in the unfortunately cold water) and found another type which might be considered an “in-between” but is really just Passive.

So in this book, Ara and November both have a fear of the unknown, but Ara has a more specific fear relating to her responsibilities as a leader, and November just has all that extra baggage.
