@joy Well, let’s disregard thematic depth then because that can be fixed. In that case, Queen of Thorns or Aethra Falls seem like the two best options.

Hey @that_writer_girl_99! I think I figured out your tag problem 🙂 So, your username is registered as that_writer_girl_99 which can be used as your tag, but your profile has your name displayed as Elizabeth which can also be used as a tag. What probably happened is that when I set up your account I forgot to switch your name displayed to your…[Read more]

@joy I can see why you’re torn. Those all sound like great ideas, only the second one is a little scattered in that I don’t see how it all connects as well as with the others. I probably have a tie between 1 and 3, with four sounding great too.
I’ll just offer a few questions that might help you pick one idea to go forward with.
1. Which idea do…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Henty is the worst, but Arthur Conan Doyle was high in mind too. Though I do like Doyle actually.

@That_Writer_Girl_99 I still haven’t had a chance to read that. D: Sorry… I should get to it soon. But just for now, Imma risk @Emma-Flournoy‘s wrath and say if you don’t like third person, don’t use it. First person mightn’t have the scope third person does, but for those who can write it well it makes up for that in depth. I’m going to hazard…[Read more]

@Joy … and I’m supposed to tell you which one to pick??? *tears out hair* Those all sound awesome! 😛 I really, really like Aethra Falls. All the others are still great ideas, but that one is definitely my favorite.

@that_writer_girl_99 No, I don’t know if it can be changed. It’s possible @rolena-hatfield might be able to change it though.

@Joy Made me cry too. 😛
Yay! I’m sure you’ll like it.
Glad you’ve got the tags down. What Daeus said and what I said were two different methods but they’ll both show you the tag. It’s just a little more convenient to mouse over than to go to a new page, but whatever works. 😀 -

And a note on the tags—some of them have dashes in between words. Like mine—instead of @Emma Flournoy, it’s @Emma-Flournoy. @ Emma is the tag of another user. 😀 If you mouse over someone’s profile pic you can see what their tag is in the bottom left corner of the computer screen. The tag isn’t always the same as the user name.
It’s kinda…[Read more] -

@joy Not quite. Click the blue text below a person’s profile picture (it’s their name). On that new page, right next to their profile picture, is their tag.

@Joy I know, he’s amazing! Not at all bad as Thorin either. XD Have you seen LotR and The Hobbit?
Ah yes, I haven’t seen Poldark or Downton Abbey but my parents love them. 😀Yep, Kate is the sister right above me. I’m third in a family of 11 kids. Homeschooled of course. 😀 And I’m not actually a writer but I sorta hang around in the same…[Read more]

@allison-grace It’s possible you might want to change some things. I can’t say for sure.
I’ll just give some general thoughts on allegory. The main point of allegory is to get us to view something we already know about with a fresh mind. Because of this, your allegory shouldn’t be immediately obvious or predictable. This doesn’t mean that we…[Read more]

And the moral to THAT is, if your character gets punched very hard, he will suffer at least some recurring effects.

@Allison-Grace hey! Welcome to KP. 🙂
While I agree with every point made in that video, I don’t believe that just because a story has a few (or even all, necessarily) of those ‘cliche’ elements that it’s a bad allegory.
What do I mean by that?
Well, the problem with cliches is that so often they’re written just ‘because that’s the way things are…[Read more] -

@Koryn-Koch Welcome welcome welcome! I second Kate, you should definitely read Les Mis. It’s a little slow in places and incredibly long, but it really is worth it. Don’t try to read an abridged version either. 😉 And A Tale of Two Cities is one of my favorites too.

Is there a way you can change my tag to just @elizabeth ?? That would be much easier.
@that_writer_girl_99 I apologize for the delay in reply. So, the scoop is that I cannot change your username, so your permanent tag will always be that_writer_girl_99. If you’d prefer to keep your name publicly displayed as Elizabeth then people will be able to use either tag. (that_writer_girl_99 and @elizabeth.) It’s probably be the least…[Read more]
That’s fine. @elizabeth is probably an easier tag anyway, and I don’t want to confuse people by changing it.
No worries about the delayed reply and thanks for your help!
