@Jessi-Rae *rests hands on top of sword and grins* Good luck with the conquering… this place tends to work by contraries though. It can’t be conquered. The harder you try the more it conquers you.
Do you know your MBTI type? Are you an INFP? We have a lot of those around here… and incidentally, I’m one. 😉

@salome01w4g I’d never heard about Egoscue before. That seems pretty awesome!
Exercises certainly help me. At least the right ones do. I had an old chiropractor recommend an exercise that really didn’t help any. I’ve got two I do now though, each three times a day, and they really help. I’m probably about 80% better.

@SeekJustice Les Miserables by V. Hugo, North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, Great Expectations by Dickens, The Ball and the Cross by Chesterton, The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, and several others mentioned already too. You’re going to be drowning in classics. 😀

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Classic book Suggestions in the forum Book Discussions 8 years, 9 months ago
@SeekJustice Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Little Dorrit, and Nicholas Nickleby (though that one is creepy on the villain side even for Dickens). Also Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, which though not technically a classic, should be one. 😛

@salome01w4g By “cut on you,” do you mean perform surgery? That’s not necessarily true. My chiropractor gave me an x-ray because he was pretty sure there was something skeletally wrong with me, but he believes you should only get surgery if you have no other options. The idea behind an x-ray is that it can help identify your root problem. Oils and…[Read more]

1. The Count of Monte Cristo
2. A Tale of Two Cities
3. Ben-Hur, Cry the beloved country, anything by G.K.Chesterton.If you’ve read the lord of the rings, you should read the Silmarillion too.
Oh, and definitely read crime and punishment! You may like The death of Ivan Ilych as well.
There are more, but those are enough to start with.

@aratrea Well… it’s been a while since I’ve done these videos, so please excuse if I’m a little vague 😉 However, my friend and I have still been writing our story, and the character I’m focusing on in the homework has started her arc a little now 😀
Characteristic Moment Well, at the start of the characters’ journey, Amrei (I can’t even…[Read more]

@jess-penrose @aratrea Yes! That one is great! And it even reflected in the actual writing, I found. *Spoiler alert* 😉 Everything about him and in him seemed shrouded in darkness. Though he’s a good person and tries to do what’s right, he’s trapped in lies and darkness from his past. When he changes, everything feels so much clearer, his…[Read more]

@salome01w4g I can totally sympathize. I used to have bad back problems. I still have some pain, but I’m mostly recovered. Feeling discomfort after 30 minutes isn’t abnormal, but if you’re in pain from sitting that long, it sounds like you have back issues. I find that those ball chairs are more comfortable than normal chairs and standing is…[Read more]

Daeus replied to the topic A question for anyone about elves in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 9 months ago
Tall, yes. Pointy ears, probably. I like elves to be generally good, but a bit aloof. Grave in council but merry in company. Basiclaly, I like Tolkien’s elves and I don’t want anybody to reimagine them. If they do, they should create a totally different creature.

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic A question for anyone about elves in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 9 months ago
@Allison-Grace depends. What’s the tone of their culture? Small and delicate? Merry? Grave? Both? Wise, or simple? Shrewd, or peaceful? Really you could make anything work, but that’s one thing to consider. 😉
