@jenali Looks good–I like how the scenes build on each other to hammer on Brigen’s inability to succeed with his EiL.

@jenali Great! What aspects of this section have been harder to understand? Is there anything I could be explaining better?

@jane-maree Awesome. Sounds like an effective foil then.
@jenali I like the characters there, especially Shriah’s alternate take on strength. What are the negative repercussions of the Allie’s decision to flee and Shriah’s stale mate? Often poetic justice will include more than simply a failure to do something.

My favorite line(s), though there were SO MANY GREAT ONES:
Kate stopped outside of the large doors to the war room. Why was it that there was always some sort of hidden force that held people’s hands back from knocking? Her fist was stuck midair, and she thought back to every book she had read before. Great. Now she was living a cliché.

@Dragon-Snapper I have literally been laughing so hard I can barely read this. HILARIOUS DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE. Owwwww… *wipes eyes* I love this too much. Excellent job with the characterization, though you made me out much braver than I’ll ever be. *splits face grinning**wipes eyes again*
Oh man… this is perfect. -

@GracieGirl hey, that’s really good. I love it, and me being a calligrapher myself I mean that.
And yes… your desk is beautifully clean.

@Rachelle I actually haven’t seen the movie. 😛
Ahhhh… the corrupt government. *grins* The age old debate. To rebel or not to rebel? That is the question. XD
I personally believe that any citizen taking justice into their own hands against the law is not acceptable whether or not the government is corrupt. God only ever said that it was the…[Read more] -

@Rachelle not at all. 😀 Intellectual stimulation is definitely encouraged. XD
It’s actually pretty simple. Justice stems from the government/judicial system because the government/judicial system is in charge of seeing justice done in God’s name— punishing the wicked and protecting the righteous. That is the whole purpose of a government…[Read more]

@Aratrea I won’t be able to do any of those. :'( It’s the time, unfortunately. That specific period is really busy for our whole family on any normal day, and with a new baby in the house (yes! New little sister; tenth sibling! 😀 ) I would feel really bad about shrugging my work off on the others, even if only for an hour.
You guys have fun though. 🙂 -

@jenali Excellent work! While I haven’t read the book, you outlined the scenes really well and seem to have a really good grasp of what’s going on. This assignment is more time-intensive than the other assignments, but I’ve found for myself that when I do this, I not only understand the story I’m analyzing a lot better, but I also get a much…[Read more]

@jane-maree I see the post, so it sounds like you found some way to post it successfully. 🙂 Good characters. I like that you’re drawing from the theme itself and not merely from the focusing question. Does Tain draw the MC closer toward the notion that he should fight for his freedom before the MC sees how it turns out for Tain?

Hey all,
Time to start thinking about the second Theme Mastery Q&A! We’ll be covering anything and everything that’s in the course in a format similar to last time–I’ll ask you some questions about the course, you can ask me questions about theme, and we’ll end with a giveaway of some sort. This will be the last Q&A we’re hosting and will cover…[Read more]

@Rachelle *evil cackling* Awesome topic.
Short answer: Revenge is bad. Vengeance is Mine, saith the Lord. I will repay.
Long answer: that doesn’t mean you can’t have revenge in your story. Even a successful revenge. But for the sake of truth, it should never be without consequences. There are always consequences when man takes God into his own…[Read more]
