Yup— the one you won, and let me say also you did great with that. I’ll post it, if you want.
‘His eyes behind their horn-rimmed glasses roved restlessly over the sea of faces before him— skeptical faces, he realized with a shock. They did not believe him. But then, why should they? There was no reason to abandon the narrow, logical world of t…[Read more]

Can they make you run as fast as the wind? Or do they act like rocketboots? 😛

Well… *glances around uneasily, shifting dark eyes from shadow to shadow* you haven’t been taken down yet… so… here goes.
‘They struck off his chains at the entrance to the Vault, and throwing him into the darkness slammed and barred the doors behind him. Leaping up, he threw himself against them, but to no avail.

No Ezra—- shshshshsh! You’re not supposed to tell people that!

That sounds… incredibly painful. I think I’d rather die a horrible magical death than have to wield that one.

@Shaina— haha! I had to laugh about what you said— telling each other what Middle-earthian race you resemble. Only a diehard Tolkien nut would do something like that.
Which I am. And have. Unfortunately I fall almost purely elf— which is too bad, because Hobbits are my favorites, then dwarves. Not that elves aren’t fascinating and all…[Read more]

Well if that wasn’t the simplest answer. Sheesh— how come I didn’t think of that? It’s good we have you here to tell us these things, Ezra…
I also just wanted to say that no matter how weird we make any mythical creature, they will always have something human about them, because we don’t know anything else.
Even if we were going to write a…[Read more] -

Good thoughts. I’m glad to see this topic resurrected again after so long! Shaina, I guess I always thought jewelry, besides rings and crowns, (yes, crowns are so cool, no matter how impractical) was strictly a feminine thing. But then, amulets aren’t technically jewelry, are they? Yes, that could definitely work.
@Rosey— a clay tablet, hm?…[Read more]

Oh, and I’ve also heard it said that while women will dress up for practically anything, men dress up for weddings and funerals and that’s it. 😀
What do you think?

Here’s another good one— Lyrical. Do you suppose that has anything to do with a lyre? The instrument, you know?

That’s an excellent question, Reagan. I like questions that make me think.
So, is it morally wrong to add fantastical elements into our world? No. I don’t think so. But I do think we need to understand that it certainly has the potential to harm.
And, as with so many other things, it depends heavily on how you go about doing it. I started this…[Read more] -

@daniel-leinad-thompson-2-2 hey I noticed that this Monday’s podcast was not posted on KP, and that the podcast you posted on the forum was taken off. Is there something I missed? Are we supposed to be looking for the podcasts somewhere else now? It’s no big deal, but I want to know if I missed anything. Not to mention your podcasts are…[Read more]

Ooooh… I’ll have to look into Dropbox, Daeus. I’ve had nightmares about losing my stuff ever since I accidentally hit ctrl A instead of ctrl S and highlighted my entire file, then started typing without noticing. I was able to recover it via edit undo, but let’s just say I went around with less than stable legs for the rest of the week.

@Hope— but I would consider time travel a technological achievement, not magic.
And with the characters coming alive and yelling at their author… take it from an expert… that stuff really happens. Believe me. I know what I’m talking about. 😛
A story like that could just be told from the perspective of the crazy author whose characters are…[Read more] -

Okay. I agree. But why? What makes it that way? After all, there is no verse in the Bible that forbids it, is there?
Or is there?
Hm… this comes pretty close. ‘Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.’ And that’s… in Proverbs,…[Read more]

Good thoughts. I especially like the idea of setting up your own small government in a dystopian world. That could be a thing— imagine a book with that as its plotline.
