Glad somebody noticed 🙂 I’ll try to get to your thread about love triangles. Haven’t read anything on there yet, but I noticed there were a lot of people who posted so it should be great.

@dragon-snapper Musicals
For me, I’d classify musicals in a genre of their own. In the same way that it’s normal for the fantastical to appear in fantasy and the bizarre to appear in horror, in musicals it’s normal for people to sing and dance spontaneously. That’s something that actual critics (as in the ones who get paid to criticize) need to…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper Now it’s my turn to apologize for not replying… *apologizes* It’s been like a month, right? See that’s how bad I procrastinate. My only excuse is designing my newly launched blog (click here to see it) so that it doesn’t look horrid. Oh, and check it out and tell me if it looks horrid. So I’ll write a really long post to make up…[Read more]

@daeus Just saying now that I like the middle books best. Because the climax of the final book tends to be anti-climactic and the first book tends to be setup.

Another random thought. You guys produced an ebook a while back. It was about like best songs for writing. First, I can’t find it anymore. Second, what about a youtube or (better) spotify playlist of those songs? Like you can make a KP spotify account (you guys already have a youtube account right?)

Weeeell it depends on your definition of it, right? I mean there’s like LOTR where it kind of seems like one long book, right? I mean the transitions between book to book almost seem like chapter endings. And didn’t JRRT mean for it to be six books? So in that case a trilogy can just be one long book.
And then there’re more modern books…[Read more]

@Daeus One of the Recompense ones (probably Dire Recompense) because the other ones sound very cliche and unoriginal IMO

All Israel shall be saved. That is in the general sense. Now Israel doesn’t recognize jesus. But soon they will, in general, recognize him. This doesn’t mean all indoviduals. This is all IMO BTW

The idea about innocent people dying ties into the subject about the ad 34 guy prettu well. What it all comes down to is a belief in God’s sovereignty. As daeus said God would probably find a way to save him. Think about the dudes who followed John the Baptists teachings in Acts (I forget the chapter). God found a way to yeach them what they…[Read more]

Overall it’s pretty cool. Here is what I noticed in order.
–That’s cool looking. A medieval guy in an 19th century setting.
–Wait, is this supposed to be a medieval guy in a medieval setting? It doesn’t seem like it. Oh well.
–Seems like a thriller. Although most thrillers have a back shot. Not a front shot.
–The guy looks very…[Read more] -

You know how sometimes you write something really long and then you forget to post it? It just happened to me, @leumeister. So I’m gonna make this brief.
Bell Curve: Action starts, rises, culminates, falls, the end. That’s a bell curve. My problem with it is that it implies that the culmination is in the exact middle. That’s wrong.
Three Act…[Read more]

I don’t know exactly how to do this @leumeister. There are many different types of story structure and a lot of character arcs. And I haven’t even studied all of them fully. So I’ll just attempt to satisfy your curiosity about the types of story structure that I listed and then post links for you to find out more.
Bell Curve: The bell curve looks…[Read more]
