Oh thank you, @Dekreel! 😀 😉
@MNValentine If you think Les Miserables is basically the best book ever written, AND you have the dedication to read it a third time, you have my applause and respect. IT’S SO AMAZING. My favorite book. And as you see, Dekreel knows this. I like alerting others to its amazing presence, so it’s good to find people…[Read more]

@Cloudy At this very moment I’m a little busy, but sometime in the next week or so I’d be happy to look over your story. How in-depth would you want me to go? I do freelance editing so I can do anything from a theme-characters-plot sort of perspective or go more into the finer details of wording and prose and grammar. It all depends on how…[Read more]

@GracieGirl HEY! YOU’RE BACK! Yayyy!! Has your life settled down a little? Have you been able to do any writing?
Trust me, we really did miss you (though I haven’t been on here just tons lately so I didn’t suffer from it as much as some people probably did. ;P ). *serious nod* Good to have ya back.

The Mysterious Benedict Society trilogy, by Trenton Lee Stewart
North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens (though that and the previous might be a little slow if you’re looking for action. But then again, if you’re reading something like Les Mis, you might not mind. 😀 They’re great.)
Mistborn trilogy by…[Read more]

Just so you know, the title Sector One is very cool.

@Northerner Was that poem published on here recently called The Human Mind by your sister, or by a totally unrelated Olivia White?

@Jenwriter17 ahhh I completely missed this before, sorry. D:
I really like everyone else’s suggestions for twists. Having the ultimate reveal of her family and mentor and all the secrets in the past being an unexpected shock really heightens things. *nodnod*
As for the blurb, it’s a good base to start off from but it’s long and gives a little…[Read more]

I have a friend who’s an artist/illustrator, but she’d probably charge a little for doing something like this. It also depends exactly what you’re looking for.

@inkling-for-christ Depending on the style of editing you’re looking for, I don’t actually have anyone scheduled in at the moment so I’m not too busy. I do charge (a low cost) for a professional edit though -you can check out my details HERE– but I try keep it affordable.
If it’s an incomplete manuscript, I would be happy to work through it and…[Read more]

@Winter-Rose ooh I love it. The others have said my thoughts basically, but I would echo that yes, my first impression was that it was a little long, so if you could cut down some of it, it might be better.

Completely unrelated. Other Olivia Whites do seem to follow us around, though.
Funny.
We’ve bumped into other Sophia Whites, too — one of them, when we lived in the Cities, went to the same hospital and our records got mixed up once. It’s weird how often that happens.
Oh, and then when people who know us personally call each of us by the other’s name, things get even more complicated in no time.
Uh, yikes. That’s freaky.
What, you and your sister? Do you look similar? That I’m used to. People think my oldest sister Elizabeth and I look incredibly similar (supposedly, we really do, but I don’t think the resemblance is THAT close), and we get called each other ALL the time. People confuse us for twins even. She’s four years older than me.…[Read more]
