I kinda want to pull my characters and just occasionally write things for the labyrinth’s inhabitants. I keep getting more fun ideas for more creatures and side characters for this. But I’d also feel bad for pulling characters so idk

Oh yeah that totally works. None of what you guys have written has gone against what I imagined at all so far. I just wanted to say something just in case.

The way I’ve imagined it, the labyrinth is really good at acting like it has a mastermind. It’s not a person and doesn’t have a person behind it, but it can mechanically detect, reflect and manipulate real people’s thoughts. No one within the story wrote the poem; it just spontaneously manifested because of how the labyrinth…[Read more]

suspecting the owner of the labyrinth might be in the house.
Not that your characters would know this, but, just clarifying, the labyrinth doesn’t have an owner. It’s sort of sentient on its own, kinda, and more like a force of nature than anything else.

Lucille
Lucy did as she was told and more; she slid every candle into her trouser belt and pockets. The flames flickered around her waist like a burner under a pan and she hissed with restrained laughter.
The poem didn’t make much sense. Was it about people who had already escaped? Had they died? She recognized Gabriel’s title, but the res…[Read more]

My hand is fine now. I was rather miffed because I burnt my hand yesterday too, pulling steak out of the oven. It’s never bad burn, just painful for ten minutes or so.
Baking is indeed fun and time-consuming

I apologize for the bad poem. I wrote it quickly and didn’t want to spend forever fixing it

Lucille
For the first time, Lucy’s face flushed. Gabriel knew she was young, but he didn’t know that while she was a good silent reader, she did not read aloud to people. She put the book on the table and squinted in the candlelight. She stuttered but got through it.

Sorry about the wait! I spent the afternoon whisking masa, cooking meat, burning my hand on a kettle, etc. Lots of cooking. And I felt I should update the school roleplay first if I had free time.
Make something up
Alright! I had an idea, just give me two shakes

@elishavet-pidyon @loopylin @theducktator
Not intending to mess up the role play turns. 🫣
It’s hard to tell who wants to go next so I don’t blame you lol. Loops or Duck, one of you needs to go after me.
Marcel
Marcel laughed and brushed his hair out of his eyes so he could better return the glare. “With that attitude, you already do.”
The two…[Read more]

Is there something you want the book to lead up to, or should I make something up?

Dante
“Ow. This is humiliating,” Dante grumbled. “Walk faster.”
A nurse rounded the corner behind them, then froze when he saw them. Dante waved nervously.
“Go fasterrr,” he whispered to Rory.
“Hey!” The nurse finally found his voice. “What are you doing?”
Rory sped up, and they turned a corner into a new hallway. There was…[Read more]

Felicity
“Whatever you think is best. But we should use stealth. He’s tricky, and as soon as he knows what’s happening, he’ll disappear, I’m sure.”

Dante
Dante stared at him. “…I would rather get stabbed again.”
Rory shrugged.
But the thought of just waiting there helplessly in the hospital bed started to bother Dante. Where was Ace now? Was he close? What if the hospital had notified the police and they were coming too? The sound of footsteps in the hallway sud…[Read more]

Felicity
“Okay, this is going to sound crazy, but I think I saw the imp transform into a rabbit. Maybe. There was a lot going on. But maybe that means he behaves like a rabbit too. We could trap him.”

Dante
Rory was right, of course. Again. Dante huffed and settled back into the bed. He was feeling antsy, and was fighting the drowsiness that had been sneaking up on him all this time. He glared at the far wall.
“Maybe Alpha was right,” he muttered to himself.

Lucille
Lucy picked up one of the candles. She tried blowing it out, then brought it to her nose and sniffed it curiously. It didn’t smell like anything. But it could be useful if they brought it with them.
On the one hand, the room disquieted both of them, but at least every element was familiar. Lucy even recognized the crochet pattern i…[Read more]
