Welcome to the kingdom! I’m Koshka, a writer of middle-grade stuff ranging from rustic fantasy to sci-fi, plus the occasional poem or two. I play violin and scribble somewhat decent sketches on random pieces of paper.
Oh, and I’m halfway addicted to research. Especially the archeological, cultural, and historical kinds.
Smalls…[Read more]

Finally, here he is. (Poor guy’s way confused)
Leo
Talan? Leo blinked. Blinked again. The thought of another type of living mankind brought dusty memories of bedtime fairytales floating back.
Still, humanity was almost species, not a race.
“Yeah… I guess I’m human, but aren’t…” His voice faded away at the sight of those four…[Read more]

Thank you! It was drawn in an F pencil, then shaded with a 4B with highlights lifted out via random eraser I picked up.

People often ask me, “are you excited for camp?? The dance?! You can’t wait, right?” …And I realized, I don’t feel excited for anything. I never look forward to things. I know I will like it in the moment, but before? I feel nothing.
BRO LITERALLY SAME I have to fake excitement for people all the time so they dont think I’ve changed my mind abou…[Read more]

And… here’s a sketch I’ve been meaning to share, especially for y’all sci-fi peoples who inspired this medieval girl to actually start a random sci-fi WIP.
It’s Silvia. And I got carried away trying to figure out gauntlets that she and her (crobar?) were never finished (and I have now forgotten what she’s holding. It’s not a sword).

That map. Wow. It is quite literally one style that my brain makes book maps up in, but which I haven’t been able to get on paper.
This is so weird, like seeing a spare brain cell just laying around. (Which is a weird metaphor, now that I think about it.)
Anyway, great job!

Ahhhh! His backstories have come to the scene!!
Great job…have you finished the scene yet, and are you willing to share?
*GASPETH* she’s using AI.
I once tried to generate a character face claim for Raphael once. I don’t think it understood me. It was….uh… interesting.

Sorry I vanished for a couple weeks. I just worked some kids summer camps and stuff. I’ll pick up Leo in a minute.

Dear fellow KeyPers,
This next bit of life is going to be pure chaos and exhaustion, so I’m afraid I won’t be around the Pen Kingdom very often for a couple weeks. Maybe not till July.
Either way, see you all on the other side! -

Leo
He sighed and shuffled back a little more. If this Liko fellow wanted to fix the pipe proper, if he had some clue what he was doing, Leo would be the last person to stand in his way.
Or rather, flop in the way.
“Call me Leo.” He folded his arms under his chin to watch and point his headlamp. Liko seemed to know what he was doing,…[Read more]

Leo
The light in his eyes was vaguely familiar in all the wrong ways. Leo squinted, wrinkling his nose into a grimace. “That’s what the paperwork said.”
The light shifted to his handiwork, leaving Leo to blink away the two suns imprinted on his retina.
“The leak’s stopped.” He said, adding a for now under his breath. A small bulge…[Read more]

Sure, go right ahead! Leo’s never seen an alien before, so that could get interesting (he’ll probably just think he’s seeing things at first).

I think, content wise, they are young adult, even if you could appeal to an older audience as well.

Leo
This crawlspace may not have been the smallest thing he’d squeezed into, but it was clearly trying. He slid a little farther on his back, boots scuffing over the damp the floor. He shifted a bit to try and ease a cramp in his soaked back.
And there it was, showing ghostly white in the light of his head lamp. A broken pipe.
He closed his…[Read more]
