Don’t you find it a little funny that Aaron is the one to bring the kids back after being the strongest opposer of the idea?
There is an irony in that, which was why I thought the chapter was good. I read the last section you posted as well.
“Finnick is fifteen. In a few years he could find a place of his own,” offered Sabina…

Your tags did not work again. I think the secret to making them work involves not grabbing anything from before them when copying/pasting.
Also for those of you who might have missed it, I uploaded another image of a character introduced in Chapter the 13th to my Google Photos album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/pPdcEwEp2h22sswE8

Maybe the fact that you are the first person to say that to me has something to do with it…… I normally get told to let other people be the authors of their own stories and stick to mine.
Okay. I am the author of this story and I won’t take every suggestion you have, but I do like to hear others ideas, so please don’t worry abo…[Read more]

But then that makes right-handers day ALL THE OTHER days of the year!!! 😀
Perhaps, but that is less special.
Ok, I’m done giving un-asked for ideas.
Sorry.
Not sure why you are apologizing here. Your ideas are welcome.
and ha I didn’t even notice that with Alan and Oliver in the beginning.
I am kind of glad you…[Read more]

I just read the last section. I don’t have too much to say about it, but it was good!

Because, your country seems to have a little superstition what with the wizards and all that. In the olden days, (which your book is fantasy so i can’t quite tell the era) People were really cruel to lefties because they believed it was a sign of demonic inhabitants or the practice of witchcraft.
Hmm. I don’t think the citizens o…[Read more]

Here is something from a document I found helpful for coming up with blurbs.
Five-Sentence Story
1. The balance: the normal world. What is normal? Who is our hero? What does he normally do? Suzy walks down the street with her dog.
2. The unbalance: something happens that upsets the normal world. It must be an event…

Picture of Eric added. Fun fact: All of my characters are me in some way, but Eric is probably the most similar to me personality-wise (Which is not entirely a good thing). He also is the character that looks the most like me.

Hmm, is procrastination a character trait? If I’m reading the above right it is. Since that is so, Alan (and maybe Martha) can get a little annoyed at the fact that he’s not taking this whole thing seriously.
Yup, I don’t think determined and heroic Alan is going to like Eric much at first.
How old is he? I’m picturing someo…

Is it? That one ALWAYS gets me. I can never figure out a way to remember which is which. grrr. Grammar is gonna kill me. Btw, I can’t get over the fact that we keep correcting each others grammar. lol
That’s the whole point of getting others to read it. Sometimes someone else can see your grammatical errors better than you ca…[Read more]

Okay. The problem I am having is that I am introducing a character who is supposed to be laid back, indecisive, and put things off (he is Martha’s brother, Eric). However, since he is supposed to lead Alan to his father, he comes across as more decisive than he really is, and sure, he might be more decisive at times, but it gives…[Read more]

This week is a little busier for me. I still have time to write, but chapters may arrive a little later than expected. My church does a camp for families this week and I may be going out there for a couple of days. Also, I am a little stuck right now, trying to figure out how to introduce…[Read more]

One evening, Aaron was sitting by the fire with his Bible open on his knees. He had turned to the psalms once again, and he had his journal ready at his side. This passed month he had taken to turning the psalms into his own prayers, and he was beginning to feel peace. The answers were there, before him. All he had to do was trust…

“I was there, Noah.”
“You were where?”
Aaron clenched his fists tightly. “I was there when he died.”
Noah turned to face him. “Wait, when who died?”
“Turin.”
There was a long silence, and then Aaron pressed on. “I watched him die, Noah. I knelt by his side and I couldn’t do anything as he bled to death in the street.”
“Why d…

Your tag not working.
@ellette-giselle
I promise both of you that I do not agree with the “kids always know better” thing either. I have been annoyed a bit that my book is this way, with characters who either disagree with their parents (like Martha and Tyn), or are separated from their parents (like Alan and Oliver). One day, I’ll try…[Read more] -

Yes! And, (spoiler kinda) he’s unintentionally beginning to see himself as Ardenta’s savior which is why he feels like a failure. I don’t know if that was clear in the above.
Interesting. How easy it is to get caught up in pride.
