I guess we never really noticed or cared until their absence started causing problems

@hybridlore
Yeah, I feel like it was still relatively active after that. I stalked the website before I was old enough to join (and that was 3 or 4 years ago) and it never looked “shut down” to me. New articles, new members, and Kathleen was still active until recently (I can’t even remember when that was lol 😭).

@esther-c

Whoa, weird!

@everyone

This article may give us some more context… https://kingdompen.org/kingdom-pen-goes-on-hiatus/

My browser recommended it to me when I searched up the website. What I don’t understand is why there were so many people able to join after this?? And we still had submissions occasionally for years, right?

@theducktator

I forgot about that! I’m probably going to be on vacation this week though (assuming my family doesn’t keep getting sick) so I don’t think I can!

@elishavet-pidyon

imitating styles is something I can do very well, so that is an option. I’ve never read either of those books, but a few illustrations is what I had in mind. I planned to do them like the pictures on retro sewing patterns and books from the time period.

@power

love it!!! 😂

@ellette-giselle

Great!

I think… It could go either way. I think something like Scout: Secret of the Swamp would be good.(Also Nancy Drew did the same thing) Occasional illustrations, half or full page, but never two pages. It would be fun to imitate a drawing style of the time.

@stephie @keilah-h @ellette-giselle

Thank you! 🩷

@whalekeeper

awww! So cute!

@elishavet-pidyon

I’m game. I have a book I should probably get around to illustrating….. oh my word. You actually know the book. You just read it! Ha, you could give me illustration feedback! Starting with question number 1, is it better without pictures? Some books just need to be left to the imagination…….

@loopylin

Haha! the second one of the new batch is peak!!

@keilah-h Wait, I’m sorry, he drank lead? Dude’s got cartoon level plot armor, lol.

Me when I pretty much killed Fel and then realized what I had done

@whalekeeper hehehe every one of those made me giggle out loud.

But the last one… I have so many ideas for monsters or side characters or other labyrinth tricks and I have just been waiting for your characters to trigger one of them.

@whalekeeper

The lady of memes returns.

Loll the first one really got me!
