You know those /really/ cheesy scenes in movies and books when someone says something like, “Uh, guys, I’m still here you know…”

Yeah, I’m not gonna say that.

… because in the really cheesy movie scenes, they are usually insulting that character. Not complimenting them.

I haven’t read either of those, but I know about Sherlock Holmes. Good example. Since the story is narrated by Dr. Watson, that makes the death more possible. Though it is sort of about Sherlock… how much can the story go on without him?
