Gross understatements in conversations actually help the humor a lot. Or just observe the humor you like and imitate it. A good representation of my method of humor in dialog is my story on here “The Day Santa Wore Carhartts”. Mostly between Grant and Rob.

Wow, life is so busy! There is a lot of pressure on being a freshman, between all this different classes and the added reminder that I have to get good grades all of a sudden if I want to get into a good school. Ugh! Any tips to help me survive and thrive during my first year of high school?

If you wrote a story based of a song, what song would it be and what genera?
Mine would be “fix My Eyes” by FOR KING & COUNTRY and would be historical fiction about the American Revolution.-
Whoa… what a question. There are so many songs… one I’ve always liked, though, is a piano and cello duet called ‘Winter Wind’ by a group called ‘The Piano Guys’. If you’ve never heard it, look it up on youtube. They’re amazing. The music always seemed to belong in some sort of Dickensian story to me. I’ve written a few of that genre.

Not only Orrock. Hammond does it too. It’s funny, since I’d never really heard much of an Irish accent before Hornblower. I’m not sure how one would write down an Irish accent, other than to mention how they accent the letter R.

Sorry, I don’t think I can be the one who doesn’t like writing dialog. It’s one of my favorite parts and one of my only strong points in my first book. 😛 But I can ask some questions.
Ever say the conversation out loud?
