Has anyone here ever thought of using short poem forms (like Hiaku) for chapter titles? What do you think are some negatives or posotives of such a format?

I’ve actually seen it done in the book Princess Academy. Not exactly as titles, but they were there at the beginning of the chapter and there weren’t any titles. It adds an interesting element to be sure. Sometimes it distracts, so usually it’s best if they have some bearing on the events at hand in the story.

I’d say sticking them with a strong personality (not strong as in “butch-chick” strong. More just consistent) is a starting point. Also when I talk to myself, I’m thinking about when I’ll have to talk to people in the future, and decided what I should say to them; and fixing what I had said to someone that was totally wrong and messed up. Being such an awkward person, that happens a lot. 😛
