Solid story idea. I think this could be really cool. Like @daeus and @kate-flournoy said, though, I think articulating exactly how the magic thing works could be tricky. But from what I’ve seen, it looks like you’re well on your way to solving it.
Everything that needs to be said has pretty much already been said here,…[Read more]

Guys! Look, I made a thing. This is not my protagonist, but she’s another (very cool) personage that I’m having fun with. (*cough cough* Can you say antagonist?)

@Emma-Flournoy This is the one who’s character page you were snooping on. 😉

Close enough to get a bit of wind and a sizeable power outage afterward, but far enough away to not sustain any damage. @epicaddie2

@epicaddie2 *shakes head* Nope, Florida. I’ve heard California is much drier. Here…we just get rained on. All the time.

@salome01w4g You like the cold, hm? You definitely wouldn’t like where I live, then. Here it’s hot and humid. Not cold often, even during “winter”.

@dragon-snapper Ooh! I really like that. I love all the different colors. Does her name have any special significance or a cool meaning or something?

I’m gonna tag @daeus because he’ll probably be able to tell you more than I can.
In my opinion, this is a bit too long, and it reveals a bit too much about the story. I can’t tell you how or where to cut, but that’s just my thought. You want to keep a bit of the story to reveal later, right?

@That_Writer_Girl_99 I see the point. What Kate said about character dynamic-ness and duplicity is right true though.
And honestly though, I think a bunch of my dislike for Luke comes from the bad acting. That he’s really poorly acted makes him a whole lot less…good in every way as a character. Which isn’t Luke’s fault, it’s Mark Hamil’s. XD If…[Read more] -

@Ethryndal Um…I came up with it off the top of my head, yes, though it’s hardly a stunning simile. XD I must’ve just been favored at the moment, because usually when I try to think up an appropriate metaphor—YEAH, I know how hard it is. Ugh. 😛
@That_Writer_Girl_99 *blinks* I don’t pat your head.

Exactly. He isn’t an incredibly ideal character, but he is genuine, and I think that’s what sets him apart from each of the other Star Wars characters. His hardships didn’t begin until he was much older, giving him that sort of “spoiled brat” vibe. Until, of course, he discovered he has to save the world. That tends to mature a person. @ethryndal

*cough* @That_Writer_girl_99 *cough cough COUGH choke hack*
Okay fine, I see your point. And honestly, he’s probably the most realistic hero of all the teenage heroes, considering he represents the most normal way of life. Leia or Padme or Rey couldn’t whine, because they’d never known any other way of life than hardship. Luke, on the other…[Read more]
