@valtmy Hello, hello! I’m going to be in and out for a bit. What are you working on?

@ariel-ashira Okay, goodbye. 🙂

@rochellaine I am on, but the family is waking up now so I think I will have to go. I read about butter, but I don’t think they did that in the Middle Ages.

@ariel-ashira Haha, I can’t mind that you left without telling me yesterday since you can see I did the very same thing to @seekjustice last night! 😛
I see you two had quite the conversation this morning. 😉 Speaking of things they used to do for burns, I don’t know about the middle ages, but I know somewhere around the 1700s-1800s they would…[Read more]

@seekjustice Neat! Seems like that would help when you are a writer. 😀
Okay, goodnight! Tomorrow for you might be tonight for me. 🙂

@seekjustice These are some things they used:
Honey
Flaxseed/Linseed Oil
Spirit of Turpentine
Aloe
Wine
Cold Water Compress
Lime WaterYou are a first aid officer? I should know what that means…
Well, I am here if you want to chat. It is 7:00 in the morning here, and I am up before everyone else, so I think I can talk for a little while longer.

@seekjustice I cried when you said the same of me.

@seekjustice I agree it is more common but way underused. I don’t yet know which kind I will give my characters, though. Have you researched burns? I was yesterday. My character suffers from some level three burns, and I was finding out what they did in the Middle Ages for burns.
What time is it there?

@northerner @kate-flournoy I love SE! A lot! It has pretty much the same mission as KP. I go over there all the time to haunt the forum and read the new articles which have been amazing. Still, it saddens me that KP is not what is used to be and so many people have left. My best friends though ( @alia @seekjustice @rochellaine @jenwriter17 esp…[Read more]

@seekjustice Yeah, I was researching the kind of amnesia where you can’t remember anything after the accident. It appears to be more common than the kind where you forget everything before the injury. I had not heard of it before though because it seems like movies and books use the other kind more. I had also seen a movie recently where th…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’ve been listening to a YouTube video which collects thirteen versions of “If I Loved You” from Carousel and asks “who sang it best?” but doesn’t include my favorite version… 😛
Yes, it’s from the late 40s, so it’s kinda too early for you. But, which version did you listen to? It’s been done in a lot of different styles. It is…[Read more]

@notherner well, there are some of us that are staying here ’til we’re old and grey 😛 But, if you’re worried about being able to still grow as a writer here, I’d say these writers here will still give their advice and input. I still grow even though SE is launched. Yes, Daeus and Josiah and the staff-pros-people are at SE, so you’ll probably get…[Read more]

@seekjustice Have you ever heard of the movie 50 First Dates? I’ve never seen it but people have told me the plot several times and I just looked it up to make sure what it was. It looks to me like that has the type of amnesia you’re talking about. The girl was in a car accident so she can only remember one day and then forgets it the next da…[Read more]

@seekjustice “Lost in the Stars” by German-American composer Kurt Weill. He wrote a lot of operas and musicals in both German and English. “Lost in the Stars” is from a rather depressing musical also titled Lost in the Stars, and since the plot was depressing I haven’t listened to any more of the songs, but that song is beautiful…and also d…[Read more]

@ariel-ashira I don’t dislike them, I just like other books better. I do remember I liked the first one when I read it, but that was probably eight or ten years ago and I can barely remember it now.
@seekjustice I’ve been listening to all the versions I can find of a song that reminds me very strongly of your Stars books and especially Justice.

@rochellaine Do you not like the Black Stallion books?

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #17 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years ago
@ariel-ashira Yes, you should definitely read Hans Brinker!!! It’s such an amazing book!!
I’ve only read the first Black Stallion book, so I don’t know to what you’re referring. 🙁 If you want to clarify I’m probably not ever going to read the rest of the series so I don’t mind spoilers. 😉
