@daughteroftheking thanks! 😊 I do a first sketch in pencil, line it in .3 and .1 Micron waterproof liners, then colour in watercolour. I did the white detail with a Sakura Gelly Roll white pen. Thanks so much for the drawing prompt!!!

@filewriterbase13x  what kind of soldier is Jared? Is this a historical book? Is it futuristic? What is the “aesthetic” of the book? (Steampunk, sci-fi, fantasy, medieval, etc)

Also @filewriterbase13x I’d be happy to draw some of your guys! Brant (see above) is not a good example of my male drawing skills, since I did him pretty quickly (about 15 minutes) as I didn’t have much time.

But if you want help drawing men, here’s one tip I’ve learned that I’m trying to implement: girls are built of circles and curves, and guys are built of boxes and angles. So when sketching out their figure, build them out of those shapes. There are a ton of YouTube tutorials for this too.

@daughteroftheking here is Brant! Sorry I didn’t get around to drawing him sooner, I had a Nutrition exam to study for. :’)

I’m not a fabulous artist but he’ll do XD  I had fun drawing him.

@daughteroftheking I may give your fairy character a go, if you’re still interested! @dragon-snapper ‘s drawing has inspired me (wonderful job, btw! You’re great at shading!)

N.C., also I love your Calvin and Hobbes profile pic! my dad is a huge fan of the comics

I’m also willing to draw other characters as well, but be forewarned, all your characters will look like they stepped out of Disney films, stylistically. I dabble in other art styles, from chibi to realism, but I’ve grown most accustomed to drawing kind of Disney style.

@filewriterbase13x I don’t really have a major work in progress at the moment, I’m currently trying to find some sort of idea, any sort of idea. I’m working on a short story as a gift for my dad. To fill time in between “brilliant” (hahaha) novel ideas, I sometimes dabble in fan-fiction and short stories, which I have found to be excellent ways to practise writing without committing to a whole novel. I’m also interested in trying my hand at scriptwriting.

And if you need story prompts, I could probably conjour something up. 🙂

Welcome, @filewriterbase13x ! Gosh, you sound a lot like me when I was your age! I still love painting and reading and writing and all that stuff, but I’m a bad fan and haven’t listened to Adventures in Odyssey in years.

Your book sounds awesome! I also love writing sci-fi and fantasy.

also since you love chocolate, definitely try the Endangered Species brand. You can get it in most health food stores like Earth Fare or Whole Foods, but you can also order it online. It’s an amazing brand with a lot of vegan chocolates and the best dark chocolate you’ll ever put in your mouth. And the most fantastic part: 10% of their sales go to helping– you guessed it– endangered species of animals.

Now that I’m done advertising (I really should get paid), let me just say again: welcome. I hope you learn as much from this website as I have!

@jenwriter17 I agree that there definitely should be some sort of international Kingdom Pen day. I don’t know how exactly one would go about celebrating it but holidays are great.

                        @that_writer_girl_99
congratulations on your almost anniversary!!! Kingdom Pen is a wonderful place for learning and sharing, I wish I remembered it more often when I’m pounding my head against my laptop, trying to figure out what on earth I should write XD  and are internships really as horrible as every career advice book says they are? I have heard many (many!) differing opinions on them.

@his-instrument: I meant that as, “I felt like I was being super annoying to you and I’m proud of you for not getting upset at me”. I probably could have worded that better lol 😀

@dragon-snapper thou hast summoned me from the depths of digital art. What dost thou callest upon my extensive wisdom for? Dost this concernest my sister’s blog post?
Btw, I pretty much stood over her shoulder the whole time going “Oh, what about this gif?” and “You need to put this caption!” It’s a miracle I’m still alive!:D
Oh, and does anyone know of good websites do get gifs off of? We mostly copied them off of ohmy.disney.com and the Disney gif app.

@perfectfifths it sure does!!! Thanks so much! Sorry I made you look it up… I’m actually in the middle of my very first novel (which I have written more than four chapters of :D)! I’m at 28,925 words and 65 pages, which is pretty exciting for me! Maybe I’ll actually finish it this time! 😛

Just curious… how long can a short story be before being considered a mini-book? (or whatever you would call that…) I enjoy writing short stories most and it would probably be good to get an idea of how long or short I should make them!

@Daeus: amylynn9@live.com here you go! Tell her you’re a friend of Hannah and Julia R., with whom she has had dinner with and sent 19th century letters to, and maybe she won’t be weirded out. She’s a pretty easygoing person, so you should be fine. I’m sure she’d be happy to share your survey! And if she’s not, then, well, it was worth a shot.
